According to the OCLT process, you should raise your chlorine level higher than 2.5 to check for loss. I don't believe the blanket makes a difference unless it's the source of algae. You're sounding like a SLAM. Caught early, it shouldn't take long. Good luck! :wave:

Visible algae does equal a SLAM. Have you checked an overnight loss test to see if you're dealing with organics vs dust/debris?

That sounds like the approach I take. From the time I add in the evening, I want my chlorine level at my target level by the same time the next evening. My target is 7 so I aim for 10 each evening. Sometimes the next evening, my FC will be 8 and sometimes it will be 6. Depends on how many...

honestly, if I had it to do over, I would have gotten a 33'. My advice would be to go as big as you can afford and have space to put it. I would upgrade my filter. And I would be more mindful about where I had my skimmer placed. Oh, and 2 returns would have been nice. LOL
