    First water test

per PoolMath - you should be 2-6 FC. Higher is ok until you get to shock levels, at this point when FC= 12 or more, then you should not let anyone into the pool until its below shock level. Use PoolMath - play with numbers and see how things affect each other. Really simple to use :) You...

New Pool Owner In need of Serious HELP.

The tablets at this point may be ok, but without the numbers of the CYA - hard to say. Remember I'm still learning as well :) Since you just filled this pool I'm assuming that the water is clearish? The Sock thing is (if i'm not mistaken) is for filtration - if you have green, leafy water...

New Pool Owner In need of Serious HELP.

While I'm still new (just got within the month) so take what I say with a grain of salt, and I'm sure if my words are not correct, someone will be along shortly to correct them. 1. Forget the pool store - other than possibly buy pool toys and liquid chlorine. 2. Get a better test kit the TF...

Got rid of the pool guy... now on my own.

Re-ran the FC / CC test earlier today - Maintaining FC at 28 and CC was .5 Very cloudy today and a bit of rain. Will rerun the FC/CC test before bed. My thoughts: I'm wondering if the left over algae/cide is the cause of the cloudiness. I was vacuuming/sweeping today and noticed that when I...

Got rid of the pool guy... now on my own.

Got rid of the pool guy... now on my own.

Ok good news and some stupidity on my part. I was talking to a friend while pouring the liquid chlorine from the pool store (2 gal of 10% for $4.70) and dumped the bottle into the pool. Bad news it raised the chlorine to 28.5. Good news, if it doesn't matter what the start number is, it only...

Got rid of the pool guy... now on my own.

On poolmath - Cya says lose 20% water and CH told me to lose 35%. So I split the 2 and came up with 25% Richard - Gotcha! Will do :)

Got rid of the pool guy... now on my own.

Greetings from sunny South Florida - where at this time of the year we envy you northerners :) Long story short - due to finances and now that I'm doing this on my own, I think our pool guy was good but missed quite a bit. After letting our pool guy go and not doing anything to the pool - it...
