Convince me a robot is better...

I bought a Dolphin Active 30i last year and cleaning the pool is virtually a non-chore. My pool is 60' x 20', the vacuum hose in the skimmer was an hour long chore and a real PITA. "Robbie" is out cleaning the pool for me while I'm drinking a cold one in front of a ball game. It's a no...

Do I NEED a robotic cleaner, or do I WANT one?

I think the Doheny Discivery at $650 is a steal. One nice advantage is if you clean the pool on Saturday morning for the weekend and a storm that night messes it up, just throw the bot in. Like someone else said use your pool cleaning time to pursue other things.

Heater advice needed, fix or replace

The propane company techs came today and cleaned out the burners and lines. Must have been clogged pretty bad as it hasn't worked in a long time. Working fine now, pumping warm water as I type. Interesting how the pool companies were too busy to come out. I guess they have more fruitful service...

Heater advice needed, fix or replace

So I took your advice and called my propane dealer and two techs came by within an hour. They immediately verified gas was flowing to the valve in the heater. Then they verified gas flows through the valve when the solenoid activates. They think it's a clogged line to the pilot. Took them all of...

    Dolphin's new "S series"

No one near me had the S300 or Active lines. So I called around. Atlas pools in Atlanta will sell a S300i for $1200 plus tax and ship. I found a store in Jersey that sold me an Active 30i (same as S300i) for $1100.

Heater advice needed, fix or replace

Good idea calling propane dealer. At least I'd know I have gas to the unit. And yes, I agree not to take chances with gas lines. Know of any good resources to calculate cost of operation between electric and gas. I found a link in post here on TFP but it seemed biased towards heat pumps.

Margarita Making Machine :) - Recommendations?

We stayed at hotel in Portland Ore that had a bicycle powered blender. You would pick your ingredients from the bar and mix it by peddling the bike. Although it was used for breakfast smoothies I think it was called a "Bike-a-Rita". I found a place on line that sells them and some YouTube...

Heater advice needed, fix or replace

I have a 13 year old propane heater that failed last year and no one seems to want to fix it. It's a Purex Triton Minimax plus. Apparently these have a bad reputation. I had the control panel replaced so those functions operate but now it won't ignite. Last person who looked at it suspects it's...

    Dolphin Active 30i

Mine flipped on its back once climbing up the steps but it righted itself pretty quick. This doesn't sound right. Can you try to recreate the scenario and see if you get a repeat?

    Dolphin s300i question

You'll love it. I've had my pool for 13 years and never had a bot until this season. I used the old hose through the skimmer only for the first cleaning when opening the pool. "Robbie" does all the work now. Atlas gets great reviews here on TFP. Enjoy.

Looking to make first ever purchase of robotic cleaner

The S and Active models seem to have very universal positive reviews. Cord doesn't tangle. I think this might be because it floats and the robot runs underneath the cord. There seem to be several models with various features from basic to all bells and whistles. I got the top model and am very...

    Dolphin Active 30i

Gustafsa, congrats. Great unit isn't it. I've sat and watched mine clean for a few times but now I'm confident I can throw it in the pool and come back after its done. We just had a storm here in MD and I threw it in for the short cycle to clean up the debris. Did as good a job as I would have...

    Dolphin S300I vs Dolphin M500

I have one of those heavy duty weather resistant extension cords that has a spike on the bottom. It's the ones they sell around the holidays targeted at outdoor lights and blow up frosty the snowman lawn ornaments. I keep it plugged into an GFIC outlet near the pool and pull it out when I use...

    Dolphin S300I vs Dolphin M500

Trmiv, yes they sell the S300i/A30i through the brick and mortar stores but some will ship. I'd suggest using the Maytronics website and search dealers within 100 miles or so from your house. Call them and see what their selling price is. Some of these pool stores are willing to sell...

So Many Choices for a newbie!

I have the Dolphin Active 30i which is same as the S300i. Can't say enough positive things about this bot. It's the wave of the future. Simple, efficient, it works. Buy one, you won't be sorry.

    Dolphin S300I vs Dolphin M500

I have the Active 30i which is the same as the S300i (different distributors have same units with mods to color and model number). Great product. Lightweight, top load basket with fine and coarse layers for leaf vs small stuff. Comes with caddy and remote. The two top end ones can be controlled...

    Dolphin Active 30i

According to the Maytronics website the A30 and A30i are pretty much the same. The A30i gets you a multilayered basket (not a bag), delayed start, an additional cleaning cycle of 2.5 hours and a slightly better warranty. Same goes for the difference between the S300 and S300i. Nice units either...

What is the best website to buy a Dolphin/Maytronics robotic cleaner

For a high priced product that may need repair I'd avoid the grey market (Amazon etc). Some brick and mortar pool stores will compete with internet pricing. Use the Maytronics website for dealers near you and call around for pricing. They can ship.

I have the 30i. Before purchase I called Maytronics and they said it's the same as the S300i. Different colors etc. I would have bought either one. Dolphin s300i question

Some authorized dealers are willing to ship. The price varies so if that's important call several and find one willing ship at a reasonable price. Also, the S and Active lines appear to be the same. I got the S300i but since the Active 30i is the same I'd be interested in the price comparison.

After studying the reviews I decided to buy a bot from Dolphin. I spent the off season trying to decide between a Z5, M400 and M500, buying on line vs retail store. I was about to buy an M400 but the new S300i caught my interest. It's lightweight, simple, Bluetooth remote app for smart phone...

Pentair Plus Triton minimax heater troubleshooting help

Thanks Paul. Since the pressure LED stays lit during the fault I'm suspecting the limits as well. Pretty easy to jumper to see if the unit will stay on. BTW, I appreciate your word of caution on your sig line. I will only jumper a fault switch long enough to troubleshoot but won't operate...
