    Dolphin M500 vs Active 30i

It would be awesome if someone could do a comparison between the two. The whole reason that we're getting rid of the Polaris is because it gets stuck in the corner of the pool and doesn't clean anywhere but there. We have to babysit it and constantly move it to get the rest of the pool clean. It...

    Dolphin M500 vs Active 30i

I'm leaning to the Active 30i, that's my gut choice. I do worry that it will get stuck on my drains. From the reading that I have done here, the M500 doesn't get stuck while the 30i may or may not get stuck, lol.

    Dolphin M500 vs Active 30i

We're in the market for our first robot and I've narrowed it down to the Dolphin M500 or the Active 30i. I have already read through both threads pertaining to these robots (the Doheny thread and the M5 owners thread) and I still can't decide which robot will be the better unit. My pool is 17' X...

Are Borates in a pool illegal in CA?

I will do that, Chem Geek! Thanks for the help. California is one crazy state, lol!

Are Borates in a pool illegal in CA?

I heard it from a pool store employee. We have already ordered and received boric acid from Duda so when I was told that, I was not too happy. I don't know how the state would know if I added Borates or not so it would seem to be difficult to enforce, even if it was illegal. I'm going to go...

Are Borates in a pool illegal in CA?

I'm looking to add Boric acid to my pool and heard that it's illegal here in California. I can't seem to find anything to confirm that. Is it illegal in CA and if so, why? Thank you!

Anyone not doing a pebble finish

We finished construction and filled the pool in March. I can't speak to longevity, of course, but we didn't have any streaking or mottling in the color and the color itself is exactly what we were wanting. It has a nice smooth finish and the quartz has a little sparkle in it which looks really...

Anyone not doing a pebble finish

We did Wet Edge Luna Quartz in Pacific. We love it! We didn't want a pebble finish for feel and look reasons and we wanted something more durable than plaster. It did cost us more than plaster but it was money well spent.

Choosing a Pool Builder in CA

We also used Swan (say hi to John, Roberto and Arturo) and we were really happy with them. We just finished construction in March. I'll be following your build thread :)

Travertine Paver deck & coping - need to make a decision ASAP! :S

Its funny, pretty much everyone likes it better, lol! I was freaking out at first but it turned out to be a happy accident. My pool builder did our entire yard, a big project, and that was the only hiccup we had so I consider ourselves lucky.

Travertine Paver deck & coping - need to make a decision ASAP! :S

I actually don't know what color the coping is! It was supposed to be the same color as the pavers but it obviously is not. I wasn't too happy at first but once the pavers were all down, it grew on me and now I like the differentiation. I'll see if I can find the actual name in my paperwork...

Travertine Paver deck & coping - need to make a decision ASAP! :S

I live in a very hot part of the Bay Area too (inland North Bay) and we just completed pool construction. We chose travertine for our coping and deck and we could not be happier. So far, its much cooler on the feet and not slippery like concrete. Admittedly, we've not been through the hottest...
