I'm using the fas-dpt test and the only thing added to the water before I shocked it was some kind chlorox brand stuff from walmart to up the ph.

Ok now I am understanding. What puzzles me is cya was perfect Thursday before I shocked with liquid bleach. What caused it to rise so high?

Ok so basically keep the chlorine raised to shock level for now and don't worry about cya? Or do I stll need go ahead and drain pool some to lower cya while still shocking?

Ok, so basically if we do decide to leave it running, it would be best to have a generator on hand to make sure if we lose power we can immediately have a means to start the pump back up? Just want to have all my bases covered lol.

Ok guys, I'm little confused on what's best to do. We live in NC and my fiance doesn't want to completely winterize like in the pool thread. He wants to keep the pump running year round. Is this something anyone else does? If so, do you still add any winterize chemicals even though we have SWG.?
