    High CC and SLAMing

My FC never got to 24. I added the recommended amount of bleach to reach shock level but it only went up to 3.

    High CC and SLAMing

Tested my water earlier and here's what I had: FC: 1.5 CC: 3 pH: 7.6 TA: 120 CYA: 60 So everything looks good but the CC, right? I did some reading and saw that I need to SLAM again as something's going on. I added approximately 360 oz bleach per the pool math calculator to raise FC to shock...

    Need some guidance with SLAMing

Ok, I just went back to the test kit and re-read the tests and I do in fact have my numbers switched around. It gets a little overwhelming. :D Just grabbed more bleach so hopefully I'll see some more improvement today. Thank you!

    Need some guidance with SLAMing

Okay, I'm even more confused now. I was confusing FC and CC, thinking that the chlorine levels on the Chlorine/CYA chart were for CC. Just realized it says FC. I have never had FC over 1. Last year we had no algae problems. How in the world do I get the FC level to 28 to shock when I'm...

    Need some guidance with SLAMing

I don't think I can turn the SWG off and still run the filter pump. The both operate off one switch.

    Need some guidance with SLAMing

This is my first year opening a pool. We normally take it down over winter. I'm in the process of SLAMing and need to know if I'm doing something wrong. FC: 17.5 CC: 1 pH: 7.4 TA: 100 CYA: 60 The SWG is running most of the day and night. I have been using concentrated bleach and just added...

    Clear gel-looking stuff in water

You know, that's what it looked like to me at first. Like wet diaper insides. No, no kids that small in the pool. I noticed this morning that one of the foam noodle-type water squirters seems to have lost its smooth coating. It's rough, like the foam is breaking down . It's also blue. I...

    Clear gel-looking stuff in water

Thanks. I'm thinking it's from a blue pool noodle the kids had in the pool because the gel seems to mostly be forming around pieces of that. Just had never seen that before. I added bleach last night, just to be safe. I'll clean the gunk out.

    Clear gel-looking stuff in water

I left the SWG on boost overnight by accident. Today I have a clear gel looking substance floating in the water. It's clear, for now. I added 200 lbs salt when we opened the pool. We had issues and couldn't run the SWG for a couple weeks so I was using bleach to keep levels at 2ppm. Hasn't been...

    Frustrated 2nd year AGP owner

Just as an update, we received the new flow sensor from Intex and it still didn't work. My husband decided to take the circuit panel off (where the display is) and check wiring. Sure enough, the flow sensor wire wasn't connected properly. Works perfectly now.

Xtreme Power AGP auto vacuum + Intex UF = no??

We don't. The sand filter/SWG combo has a pre filter basket but we don't have a skimmer. We've rigged a setup that will do for now. Been busy and forgot to post pictures of what we're working with. Thank you for your reply! I will try to post pics ASAP.

Xtreme Power AGP auto vacuum + Intex UF = no??

Does anyone have experience with this vacuum or something similar? I have an issue connecting it to the Intex Ultra Frame pool. My husband is about to rig it to see if we can make it work but if someone could give advice we would be very appreciative! This is the vacuum...

    Pool Math said I needed 260 and my current level is 160. - - - Updated - - - Ok, I see this says it's okay at 0? http://www.troublefreepool.com/content/134-recommended-levels

    Frustrated 2nd year AGP owner

Thanks so much for everyone's help!! Really, you're all lifesavers! I'm going to add the CYA via sock and the muriatic acid right now. I will wait a bit and add the chlorine. What about the calcium chloride? Any optimal time required for adding it?

    Frustrated 2nd year AGP owner

Thank you krazykrames. I did that but the code 90 still beeps and flashes. I'll just continue to run it that way even though it's annoying. I'll use 10mL from now on. Could you explain the difference? It's just concentration, right? I'm heading to my Ace hardware to get everything. Again, advice...

    Frustrated 2nd year AGP owner

The decimals are intentional. The test said to take # of drops needed to change color and multiply by drop equivalence. I used 25mL sample with multiplier of .2ppm, needed 1 and 3 drops for FC and CC respectively. Unless I multiplied incorrectly, that's what it is. I haven't added any chlorine...

    Frustrated 2nd year AGP owner

Okay so I tested the water. FC=.2ppm CC=.6ppm pH=8.0 TA=120ppm CH=160ppm CYA=0 So using the Pool Math calculator for an approximately 10k gallon pool, I need to add quite a bit of chemicals: bleach, muriatic acide, calcium chloride, and stabilizer. Is that right? Even with the SWG, given that...

    Frustrated 2nd year AGP owner

I won't let anyone get in until I test it. We added salt to the water but since the SWG isn't working there is no chlorine in the pool. I also don't know if I can run the pump without the SWG or if running it with the flow sensor code flashing will harm the equipment. Intex hasn't been overly...

    Frustrated 2nd year AGP owner

Hi, I've been reading here for over a year (I think I've read almost everything at this point) but never posted. I have an Intex Ultra Frame 20x52 circular AGP. Last year we used the pool for a month or so before developing algae, I dumped loads of chlorine in before we gave up and took it down...
