Low water pressure AND White Mold/Fungus??

Mr Bruce, I saw that you realized you missed it and all is good. :) As far as the numbers, the pool is actually clearing up. Did you see the picture I posted above? I can see the main drain in the deep end of the pool, and all of the shallow end, which is considerably better than it was...

Low water pressure AND White Mold/Fungus??

Wow...sarcasm. Sure need this at this point. Respond or don't respond. If you are an "expert" and don't know if you have anything helpful to post, then I guess don't. My response was to someone else whose sole purpose of his post was to tell me to get my own test kit, which I have and...

Low water pressure AND White Mold/Fungus??

No, the filter cartridge is the correct replacement...we double and triple checked. :) So, the pressure gauge arrived. I installed it and turned the pump on with the cartridge that had been running for a few hours. It immediately went up over 30 so I shut it off. I took out the cartridge...

Low water pressure AND White Mold/Fungus??

I have my own test kit, thank you. As I indicated in my first post, I needed to some replacement reagents. We went to the store to get something we hoped would help me to clean the slight film that is on the two brand new filters we got over the weekend. While there, I had them test the water...

    Three weeks and still cloudy

Daughter has been sick but is feeling better so we will be in the pool today...as soon as we are done with school. It's so hot outside that our dog hasn't had her usual play time outside so she will be happy to go in the pool as well!

    Aqua Power Skimmer Weir

Just got a PAP flyer today advertising it (I'm down here in FL). Our skimmer doesn't have a weir....is one necessary?

Pool clean up - 3 weeks in and stalled

I feel your pain. We just passed the 3 week point last week but in the last few days, upping our chlorine helped considerably and now the cloudiness is almost gone! Hope yours clears up soon.

    Three weeks and still cloudy

I'm happy to report that the pool is almost clear. This morning I could see the main drain in the deep end and this afternoon I can see it even more clearly. CC had been 0 yesterday and this morning. Hoping to be all clear tomorrow! Thanks again for all your support. :-D Oh, and a/c got...

    Three weeks and still cloudy

Well, we THOUGHT we were shocking every day by following the pool calculator's recs to add 126 oz 8.5% chlorine so.... As I said earlier, I'm having my husband get MORE chlorine today AND I have my Taylor 2006 chlorine test today so I can check past 5ppm for the chlorine. :) Thanks for your...

    Three weeks and still cloudy

I've been successfully keeping our pool clean and clear for four seasons...this is the first time since we bought the house in 2008 that we have had to deal with a green pool and our a/c is also not working so it is 90 in the house and no pool. Makes us a bit cranky without our pool to swim in...

    Three weeks and still cloudy

We put chlorine in during the morning and in the evening to keep it up. I couldn't test over 5ppm until today so I can't answer that first question. We have been brushing every day...several times a day. My husband has been vacuuming also. We do have poor circulation in the deep end...

    Three weeks and still cloudy

Love the 'tude. Don't tell me I'm not SERIOUS about this...because I am. We dumpedi n shock the first day and actually HAVE put in shock a few times over the last few weeks. Also, according to the pool calculator we were putting in enough to put the chlorine at 20 every day which is what I...

    Three weeks and still cloudy

We have been trying to clear up our pool for over three weeks....shocked it and the next day it was cloudy. We've been running the pool pump 24/7 for three full weeks and have seen little improvement. We have been putting in a large container of chlorine (126 oz) every day. This morning...

    Cloudy - Not Clearing Up

Having this same problem. This is the first year we didn't keep the pool clean year round (in FL) because we *thought* we would be moving. Deal fell through, we are staying so we are trying to get the pool cleared up. We usually use the BBB method of maintaining our pool. This year, the...

Adding a Return.......Or Main Drain problem???

Re: Adding a Return....... I went out this morning and checked the holes under the skimmer basket. As I said last night, we do have two holes there. Front one no suction, smaller second hole has suction.

Adding a Return.......Or Main Drain problem???

Re: Adding a Return....... I don't know. The water in the deep end if just about 6ft. The water where the single return is is 5ft and it looks great. So I'm not sure that that one foot of water would make that much difference, would it?

Adding a Return.......Or Main Drain problem???

Re: Adding a Return....... What is for a pressure cleaner? The extra hole under the skimmer or the other hole in the side of the pool with cap on it that doesn't vacuum or return water?

Adding a Return.......Or Main Drain problem???

Re: Adding a Return....... Why would there be two returns to the pool? Any idea? Yes, there is that small capped pipe...no idea what that is for. There are two holes under the skimmer basket, one we use to vacuum the pool and one that we don't know what it is for. Also, I just remembered...

Adding a Return.......Or Main Drain problem???

Re: Adding a Return....... OK, here are a few pictures. I stepped back and took a wider view shot of the setup, showing the pipes going up the wall for the solar heating (which is not used) This is close up of the valve on the solar heating pipes (which now that I look at it up-close, I...

Adding a Return.......Or Main Drain problem???

Re: Adding a Return....... OK, be right back. There used to be solar panels to heat the pool. When the previous owner reshingled the roof, they didn't put panels back up so their are tubes running up the side of the house to the roof and another to return the water. That gray section, that...
