    AquaLogic P-4 question

Generally speaking, a 7-hour run time in southern Alabama with only 30% generator setting is not quite enough IMHO. Like others suggest, I'd increase the run times to at least 8 hours and/or increase the setting to it's default of 50%. Good luck.

    Polaris 360 Question

Though not designed as an aboveground cleaner, I have seen successful use in the larger ones. The trick is to get the right pressure to it.

Anyone know of these pool cleaners?

Product of China. Looks very much like a number of other robotic cleaners with a spinning brush front wheel. Otherwise, it's a new import product, and I have no experience or even rumors about it. Sorry. :|

    Polaris 360

All of the above, PLUS, make sure you cut the feed hose properly. Too much hose can cause circling. Also check the wheel RPM to make sure you are getting 28-30RPM. Does yours not have a backup valve?

Help with selecting right equipment for pool

So, you are going to build four pools...you are a "builder" with zero knowedge of pumps, filters, etc? I don't know whether to offer you kudos or stiffle a laugh! I liken it to someone who is opening a pizza shop and does not know how to make dough, or what temp the ovens shoud be at. I'm...

    Waterfall, later...

Even with a waterfall "stick", like a Jandy Sheer Descent, GAW, or any of the other brands, it will have to plumbed into the pool system -- after all, the water wil have to come from somewhere and spill into the pool or spa, and at the equipment pad, you would want to tee off the returns with an...

    Pentair or hayward

Both Pentair and Hayward offer extended warranties on their products to builders who are enrolled in their respective programs. If your PB is a "Totally Hayward" dealer, but not a Pentair "PIP" member, he will, indeed offer better warranties for Hayward. I distribute both, so I'm not in a...

    Pool paint?

Successful painting of a pool is not for the faint of heart, as the key to pool painting is surface preparation. You must create a bondable surface for whichever paint you use (water-based, synthetic chlorinated rubber-based, rubber based, or epoxy). I list them in ascending order of cost, and...

    Maui Gem finish

As mannaggia posted, above, Maui Gem is a branded aggregate on-site mix, available in many colors. Pyramid Cement makes this brand. There are quite a few other manufacturers of similar product, to include SGM, Florida Stucco, and CLI. All are considered excellent finishes. In many markets...

    Diamond Brite color selection

The SGM website has samples of colors (Southern Grouts & Mortars = Diamond Brite). In general, the really dark colors will show wear and whitening (looks like chalking) more dramatically, and more quickly than the lighter colors. Also, those bad water balance issues, when and if they happen...

Regulations for deep end with jumping rock

Not many want to comment on the "regulations", because of legal liabilities. Here's a reference to the ANSI Standards for residential pools. It's pretty complicated, and most builders who install diving boards, or jump stands, will reference these standards, which will be included for the...

    Resurface Options

I'm not a fan of Fibre-tec. I do have a customer who had done this for the past 15 years, and does a good job, but I hear lots of complaints about this technique over time. Once you do it, you have only expensive options for repairs. I'd stick with replaster, either the premixes or an...

Please Help With Colored Led :(

Don't fail to recognize that the darker the pool surface, the less color light will be reflected. If you have "white" walls, you will see much more color. As to the version difference, I'd consider that the original Colorlogic has had some problems with leaking into the control parts over...

    Outlook Express Problem

Meatloaf, it might not be on your end. When a message is sent, the sender has an option to attach a photo or include it in the text. Check with the folks who send your photos. Otherwise, I don't think any of us want to give you advice that might bring a harmful result.

    Does your filter dance?

Nope, your filter should not dance around. If you have air pockets going through your system, it will "jerk" or expand and contract, but I'd look for some issue. Did you bleed air out of the tank?

    Which pool liner to pick?

The quality of the liner material, and the quality of the manufacture (seams, cut, etc.), are important, so one of the better know vinyl liner folks is probably better (Latham, Tara, Kafko, etc.), but even with pristine water chemisty, you are a bit optimistic to expect a 20-year liner life...

    Sunstone Pearl Black Pearl

I'm unfamiliar with that brand name, but if it's an "aggregate", mixed on site, you can try this link to the Stonescapes pages and click on a color for a closeup. [url]http://www.nptgonline.com/nptg_national/finishes_folder/stonescapes_white.html[url]. If it's a premixed finish, let me know...

    Tear in vinyl liner

I would suspect you can repair it, even though I notice that the liner bead is tearing away from the liner, too. Just get the clear vinyl patch kit from Boxer, and smooth it out and apply the patch(s). The patch might well hold through the season. Good luck

Need your opinion on our pool specs!

Just a few additional hints and comments: "The Intelliflo can probably handle the pool/spa combo with a small spillover, but I don't know about an extra feature. You may want to ask him to leave room on the pad and in the plumbing for an extra pump just in case." Since the Intelliflow can...

Pool Repair - Tear in liner

A few pics would help me! I'm not sure what a "partial liner" is. Almost all liners are made from "virgin vinyl" anymore, unless it comes from out of the country, and even most of those are not from recycled vinyl. Millage? Standard is 20/20, and you will get lots of opinions about heavier...

Water in my Pentair SAm Light

Here's the product parts page: http://www.pentairpool.com/products/replacement_list.php?id=175#. There is a part #619481 called a SAm repair kit, but I have never tried it. Generally speaking it's a replacement as the best option if it's not the bulbs.

    Crack in Fiberglass Liner

Ouch! Since I'm unaware of a "fiberglass liner", unless it's a Fibre-Tech pool, I'd like to know more. Is it a fiberglass shell IGP? What brand? Fiberglass repair folks are pretty easy to find, and can do good work if needed.
