Need to get recommendations on a new pump for my 21 ft round 54” high pool. Currently has a pentair dynamo 1hp pum an sand dollar sd 40 filter. would like to get a 2 speed pump to save electricity.

I thought about replacing it, but have had so many issues with it, I would hate to invest anymore in this brand.

I have a sungrabber (2) 2x20 panels in the mail. The strap system looks like something that can be purchased at homedepot. I know that I can go under the top shingle and I wanted to be able to go under the bottom shingle. Thinking of maybe aluminum L bracket on the bottom?

Has anyone made their own attachments or braces for the panels on the roof. I saw the kit that you can get and it looks like basic strapping and screws.

I read all topics for DYI. I did have a question. I have a 12x24 oval, and I can't find aluminum in the area. Is there any other material that might work to span the 12' plus overlap? 2 3/4" fence posts. 1 3/4" galvenized? 3" PVC?

Update. I gave up on the sand filter and ordered a Hayward C900. It came in last weekend. After installing it saturday morning, let it run, and by 5 pm that day the pool was crystal clear again. I'm going to purchase and extra filter to make cleaning easier. Thanks to all.

The temp in the liquadator was 83 and the pool temp was 86.

Re: Pool filter no filtering when adding CYA Just went and pulled the multiport. Sand was level and not channeled. A little bit of the CYA was on top of the sand, but most is in the pool. Almost seems like it just bypassed the filter and went straight out.

Question. Is it normal to see the CYA granuals that you put in the basket come straight out of the return and into the pool? Also getting alot of debris settling on the bottom of pool.

The easymeters pump looks like the Hanna. I might give it a shot and see. Something I can use when on vacation.

I just checked and that's exactly what I need. I'll have to bookmark that website. for $56 definately a reason just to repair. How difficult would it be to replace? I'm pretty mechanically inclined.

JasonLion, It's the multiport housing that is cracked so I would need another one. I checked some prices they run from 150-175 for another on. It's a Aquatools AT3120 200 lb 21". I'll have to do some more research this weekend.
