    Pool Timeline/Payment Schedule

Not sure about concrete but in our gunite pool we began the dig on Tuesday and had gunite completed the following Monday. Your biggest wait will be the 20 days or so of watering so the walls can cure. It's not like all work stops during this time. Equipment can be set, deck poured and the tiling...

    Does this bid seem reasonable?

If it helps here are my cost. Keep in mind I built this pool as an owner builder and only paid a consultant to sort of over watch it. Paid To Amount Paid Andes Pool 2500 Plans 150 Permit 208 Elec/Plumbing 3700 Excavation 1500 Rebar 1950 Gunite 4900 Tile 2702.9 Concrete 5564...

    Does this bid seem reasonable?

Seems high to me for 72 per pool. Our pool was 100 perimeter with most everything you have except the heater. We also had waterfalls and deck jets as well as a gas firpit put in. We paid 36k for the complete pool build. I am in California so not sure where that variable puts you.

Has anyone tried to find the subs to do a pool on their own?

Yes I completed our pool as an owner builder. You can see the pictures in my signature.

    Stained Concrete

When we built our pool it was built with salt finish concrete decking. Since the pool deck is tied to the RV driveway which is also connect to the covered patio and spa pad we have a concrete jungle. Has anyone had any success with stained and sealed concrete? I'd love to see some pictures so I...

    Which cleaner should I get?

Yeah a pretty bad dust storm I am surrounded by new developments with a lot of dry dirt. Just take them out and wash them clean. It's a big mess but not what I imagined when building a new pool. All that dirt never crossed my mind. - - - Updated - - - Just a year old and will prob need...

    Which cleaner should I get?

The aftermath after the 2-3 days with the MX8 cleaner.

    Which cleaner should I get?

I have the MX8 and it has rescued us from countless dust storms that has turned our pool into a mud pit.

    Let the pool games begin!

Which is why most pool builders I was dealing with always had the plumber also do the electrical. Just makes no sense to double the hard labor of trenching.

Going to bid and would like your help

Don't skimp on the LED lighting. Our plans only called for one but def could use a second one. Also drainage, drainage, drainage. I spent many weekend digging drainage pipes after the pool was built. It was just something I did not consider. If you are even remotely considering anything...

Is there a Problem with My Pool Builder?

I constructed our pool as an owner builder and took the pool drawing down to the city office myself and received my permits in about 15 minutes. Your city or county may be totally different but that is a long wait. Most pool builders in California don't require the first payment until the rebar...

New Pool Quote Central TX - need advice

Shouldn't be a problem we have only one 2hp pump. We have the mdx8 and it has rescued us from countless dust storms in the drought stricken California.

    New pool in Tucson

What hit me on my pricing was that standard tile selection. Most pool owners go for something a little nicer and it quickly adds up. I know my wife did! Also 15' of plumbing for the auto fill. Perhaps you have a valve real close. I think I had about 60-70ft of pipe and I know how the trades...

EasyTouch Automation panel and landscape lighting?

Our plumber/electrician hardwired our low voltage transformer into one of the aux relays in our iaqualink panel. It can now be controlled through the iphone app. I would assume your panel would be similar.

    San Antonio Pool Quote Help

I would tell them you want to see the price breakdown per sub so you can see where the money is going. No guarantee they'll show you but I would ask. If nothing else I would call and get an excavation bid just to see if that is where all the money is going. We built our pool as an owner builder...

It's about time in SE Georgia!

We put in a gas firepit and if I had to do it all over again I would not do it. Flame is impossible to see in the daylight and with young kids can be a hazard. I should of done wood in hindsight.

It's about time in SE Georgia!

It will definitely happen fast. It is unbelievable how fast they can build a pool these days. Our dig started last March 5th and on April 6th we had water. I look forward to seeing the pictures!

New Pool Quote Central TX - need advice

It does seem quite high. A lot of similar features as our pool which we paid just over 36k for. I am sure there's different variables for different parts of the country. For instance the dig took us about 6 hours total and we paid $1400.

Completed Lagoon Syle Pool - Conroe TX

Re: New Pool - Conroe TX Curious as to why separate pumps for the filter and waterfall. Our pool has 1 pump and when the waterfall or deck jets are on the the skimmer is disabled.

$17K for plumbing?? This seems extreme, doesn't it

We built our pool as an owner-builder and paid $5300 for plumbing/electrical and $6300 for equipment. Our pool was modest I'm sure no spa but it is a salt water pool.

    Zodiac/Barracuda MX8 flow question

We have the same cleaner and at 2750 and the majority of the suction going to the cleaner it barely moves. We had a big dust storm last week and our pool became a mud pit. I changed the rpm to 2900 and had all the suction to the cleaner and it moves really well. Cleaned up the bottom of the pool...
