    Breaker size for 110v spa

Ok, we are up and running - thank you all for your guidance. Now for sanitation - I'd like to go the Dichlor-to-bleach method outlined in this forum. I've got a 225-gallon spa, with an ozonator. It will be used primarily by my wife and I, and I'm estimating maybe 4-6 hours per week use...

    Breaker size for 110v spa

Ok, that makes sense - thank you. I know mine has a single, 2-speed pump.

    Breaker size for 110v spa

Ok, that's what I do not understand - if the heater is running but the pump is not, how does the hot water in the heater make its way into the tub and be replaced by cool water to be heated? I would think that some sort of circulation would be necessary for this to happen, no?

    Breaker size for 110v spa

Ok, I got the circuit installed last night. Tonight is the fill and test. Temp. is supposed to be around 4F. Will fill with hot water and hope for the best. Wish me luck! Thank you all for your input. One question, and I apologize if this is a dumb one - If the heater and jets will not run...

    Breaker size for 110v spa

Thank you for the input thus far. I do not have the manual, and did alot of searching. What I have found is that most 110v tubs are fine with 15A or 20A circuits, but I haven't seen anything for this partricular model. I found specs on one retailer's site that lists "Voltage Rating 110/220v"...

    Breaker size for 110v spa

We have recently acquired a used Ecco L350 spa. This spa can run on 110v or 220v. I am planning to have a 220v circuit set up for it in the Spring but was wondering if in the meantime I will be alright using a dedicated 20A circuit: 20A breaker, 12/2 wiring on a 30' run from the breaker and a...

    Hayward 1001ID

Oh, I understand that - this will only be a stopgap measure to see if this thing is worth saving. Thank you for your help thus far - more questions to come I'm sure.

    Hayward 1001ID

Yes, 100ID - my apologies for the error. Is this switch threaded in, and if so is it a standard pipe thread? It's leaking pretty badly and if possible I'd like to put a pipe plug in there while I'm figuring out if this thing is worth the effort and expense.

    Hayward 1001ID

I recently inherited a Hayward 1001ID propane heater from an acquaintance who put it in his garage a few years back because "it didnt work". So now it's mine and I'm going to try to get it running, hopefully with the help of some nice folks here who know much more about these things than I do...

    12.5% Liquid chlroine - cheap

Just a heads up for anyone that has an Ollie's Bargain Outlet nearby. They are currently selling 12.5% Liquid Chlorine for $2.99 per gallon. I was skeptical about the quality, so I bought just a few, but from what I can tell it's working just fine. I'll be running back for a season's worth...

    Filter not filtering?

I live in the middle of about 50 acres of forest, and that forest is almost completely surrounded by farm fields. The combination seems to do odd things to pool water. Luckily, and oddly enough, my well water is fantastic.

    Filter not filtering?

I'll try to remember to snap a picture. For now, just imagine a glass of skim milk with a few drops of green food coloring added.

    Filter not filtering?

Another question if you don't mind - how can I determine/estimate my CYA level for SLAMming purposes? I can't see the dot in the bottom of the tube even without reagent.

    Filter not filtering?

Ok, thank you for the encouragement. Will it be beneficial to me further lower the water level? My thought process on this is that if I have only 25% of the water, a set amount of chlorine should have 4x the potency - is that correct?

    Filter not filtering?

Well, it was a busy weekend, which unfortunately yielded very little in the way of results. We drained a little more than half of the water out, by vacuuming to waste. I jumped in (let me tell you how much fun that wasn't) and scooped out ALOT of leaves, then vacuumed again. I think I got...

    Filter not filtering?

Thank you for the advice. I just noticed that my signature incorrectly identified my pool as an in-ground. It is actually a 27' round 54" deep above ground pool which is slightly set into the ground on one end. It is set in approximately 24" below grade for about 1/3 of its circumference...

    Filter not filtering?

Thank you. I will definitely be picking up a new test kit this year. The one I had been using was decent, but I’m just about out of reagents, so it’s a good excuse to spring for one of the really complete kits. I’ll need to do some research on that sooner rather than later. I haven’t been...

    Filter not filtering?

Thank you for the input – I’ve read over the Pool School before, and I will go through it again. Maybe this will be the year that I jump into the BBB world. What are your thoughts on any possible filter problems? Should I be seeing more dirty water when I’m backwashing? At this point, I...

    Filter not filtering?

Hello, I'm hoping maybe someone can shed some light on a problem that I can't seem to figure out. Beginning about halfway through last season, I began to have a problem with algae. Every day or 2, I would find a few small patches of algae in the pool and would have to vacuum. Multiple water...

    Any Reviews on Aquasphere AGPs?

My wife and I have decided to put up an above-ground pool this coming Spring. We have been visiting dealers for the past 2 weeks and gathering information on brands and prices. We have decided on a 27' round pool. The 2 dealers we liked best thus far carry pools by AquaSphere. The models we are...
