    Inground liner replacement

Hello everyone! So I have owned a vinyl lined 16x38 inground pool now for 15 years. I paid the $3800 to have the liner replaced in 2006. I am a strong "do it yourselfer" and have replaced out and replumbed just about everything in my equipment pad, but I have never done a liner. I am...

Cheap alternative to pool cover water ballast bags.

I am sure someone has already done this, but it is a first for me. I hate having to buy pool water bags every year because they break and tear so easily. This year I am trying something new. In my house we go though gallons of milk and water constantly. I just started saving the...

Has a pressure side cleaner ever cause damage to pool plumbing?

I'm curious if anyone has ever heard of or experienced any damage to return line plumbing, either with or without running a booster pump? I have been considering a Polaris 280 with a booster, but I have a 40 year old pool and I am worried about putting alot of pressure into my return line...

    Liquid Covers

So I am very happy with the Cover Free Liquid pool cover but not happy with the price and lack of alternatives. I don't like the fact that I am usually having to buy this stuff at the pool store with no alternatives. I actually looked up the patent to learn about what makes this stuff tick...

    Newbie considering salt system

I might have a deal on a cheap salt water ionizer, but I am reluctant to switch away from my chlorine setup. Is it possible to run both systems and then gradually back off on chlorine? Also, for those of you running the salt system; are you noticing quicker corrosion of pumps and equipment...

    Need recommendations for pump/heater efficiency

This is such a great forum and I appreciate the input. I have been recently toying with the idea of installing an antique coal/woodburning boiler on my plumbing loop. The thing that worries me is that I have 2" pvc pipe on the loop, and the boiler input/output is a 1". I am not sure what...
