Cost of filling in/removing a spa

What costs can/should I expect when I want to fill in my spa? We won't ever buy a heater for it (original one was dead when we bought the house) and it is only giving me troubles anyways (plaster in bad condition, greening up much faster than the pool, would want a couch there etc, etc)...

Amerilite Pool Light Leaks. A Fix and what I've learned

Just wanted to report back that it worked great, no water in the fixture at all. Thanks again!

Amerilite Pool Light Leaks. A Fix and what I've learned

Count me as another one. Just got my G/Flex, fingers crossed. I won't be able to know for a while if it worked or not though since my light would always super slowly fill up with water over the course of a season. Thanks to the OP for the tip!

How would I find that out? Or is that the point where you would suggest to contact my contractor? :P

Regarding the voltage; I have two mechanical timers, I think one must have been for the heater. Could I just take the power supply from the one that was for the heater to achieve 220V?

Ok cool thanks. So this could always be added later on if I wanted to. Just to be sure that I can actually use a 230V pump, how would I find out if I have 230V supplied? If I read the label of my old pump correctly it is a 115V that can be wired as a 208-230V pump right? I am at home right now...

Do I need to use an automation system? I thought there was a timer on the pumps directly. The more I read the more confused I get :? Right now I have this old-school mechanical dial.

Hehe, yeah seems like it. Is there any reason why you would chose the Intelliflo over the Ecostar and vice versa? Also if I go with the Super II, can I set the rpm of the two speeds or are they fixed? Would be interesting to know if it would make sense to get the 2hp so I have some more headroom...

Variable Speed Pump -- Hayward 2300/2600/3400?

Would you mind letting me know where you found the pump for that price? I am considering at the same one atm and this sounds like a great deal! Thanks in advance :-D

Thanks for letting me know what kinda pump I have :p Thanks for the model number, the Super II looks like a very decent pump from what I, with my limited knowledge, can tell. Just that there is no 1hp version, only a 1 1/2, 2 and 2 1/2. I like the point about being more flexible by spending...

Sorry for the late reply, we are in full nesting mode with our daughter being due in three weeks :) Is there one pump out of Intelliflo (VS or VS3050 btw?) and Ecostar that you would reccomend over the other? Both have not exactly overwhelming reviews on amazon... Also, do you have a model...

Well right now I have a 1hp single speed pump @3450rpm. The full info is in the photo of my initial post :) edit: my main goals are obviously having it as silent (it is right at the wall where the couch is in the living room) and energy efficient as possible.

Ok if the 90 dollar difference doesn't matter would you still get the 2300 over the 2600? From what google tells me head pressure basically means how high the pump could get the water, so I understand the higher the value the more pressure in the filter it could work against, right? My filter...

Ok two questions, What is the difference between the two models? I was reading their specs on amazon but can't really figure it out  And isn't the Maxflo the cheaper one? I have the Maxflo at $617 on amazon and the Superpump at $709. Or do I misunderstand your post? edit: Ok got it, I...

Haha, no three story, typical old Tempe ranch style house. Ok I just looked up all the pumps you suggested but unfortunately non are eligible for the rebate. Here is a list of all the pumps I could get:

Thanks again! Attached is the pool (thanks google maps) and it's measurements. The shorter arrows on the sides indicate the shallow end, even though by the arrows it is probably 5-6 ft and then drops off very steeply. The spa is about 8x4. Yes so far the suction cleaner worked fine, after dust...

Yeah I think it is deceptive because everyone that comes to our house, pool people included, always comment on how big the pool is, lol. I'll go measure it though! And I can install it myself (I am pretty handy and was planning on doing everything myself), my energy provider will send someone...

Thanks! The rebate as of now is $150. The energy rates are: May-June: 10.44 (first 700kWh), 11.12 (701-2000kWh), 12.18 (2000+kWh) July-August: 11.04, 11.65, 12.70 November-April: 8.03 Yeah the pool is awfully big and super deep at the diving end, I bet our kids will love it though once they...

Ok the pump is a definitive. It is right by our living room couch and really bothersome thus a quieter one and obviously energy savings would be nice too since the bills here in AZ can get pretty high in the hotter months... The filter only if the consensus is that it would be better to do it...

I have a poolpump that is old, super loud and sucking tons of air from somewhere. I have been planning on replacing it for a while but now, from what I gathered, the air leak on the suction side has become so bad that the filter pushes all the dirty water back into the pool (actually spa) once...
