    backwash hose connections

Probably a dumb question but how does one attach a 2 inch backwash hose to a 2 inch PVC pipe. Couldn't find anything in Home Depot. Can anyone suggest anything? Thanks

    draining the pool?

Hi again, yes I ordered a test kit. The pool looks great, really clear. I did a bit of a test with a home depot kit to see if it's different, the last time. I'll also have the pool company do another test for comparison with their previous test. So far it looks promising. I'm hoping for an...

    draining the pool?

ok I'm exchanging as we speak, no water softener though. I figured out this whole thing is going to be about 7-8 hours. I'm finding that the pump works faster than my fill so I have to pause the pumping from time to time. Pretty excited to see the results tonight.

    draining the pool?

is it possible to replace all the old pool water doing this No Drain water Exchange? I don't know about softened or unsoftened, it'll be whatever comes out of the faucet in San Diego.

    draining the pool?

ok I've been using those puck things exclusively for the past couple of years. That's probably the course of my high Cya I assume. My iron is ok but my copper is high though I've never heated the pool with the heater and I have used 'blue' stuff but not much at all. I read that copper can be...

    draining the pool?

wow, quick reply thanks. Iron is zero so I think that's ok? Copper says 5.5 so that's really very high right? I'm thinking that's coming from the chlorine tablets? I'm thinking the no drain exchange is the way I'll go and I'm wondering how I'll know when to stop the process if I'm draining and...

    draining the pool?

I guess I have to get another pool water check and see if there is some consistency. Or get a better kit and test it myself. I need to find out as well where the metals and the Cya comes from so I don't repeat the mistakes I've made. Do you have any suggestions where they may have come from...

    draining the pool?

Hi yes I have my own test kit but not one of the good ones. However I did test the water and Chlorine was really high and alkalinity, pH was ok but alkalinity was really and that's what prompted my trip to the Pool Supply store. I don't know here the metals would have come from. The only thing...

    draining the pool?

Guys - I'm being advised by Leslie's to partially drain and refill my pool. Apparently I have very high metals and very high Cyanuric acid. Is there anything I should be wary of? Is it a good thing to do? Appreciate any thoughts, Thanks

pump and heater both not working

Hi guys, thanks so much for the help. I now know what happened. You are correct that the breaker was tripped. Apparently I wasn't squeezing the breaker far enough to the right :(. However when I did, and operated the pump I realize that the breaker tripped because the pump motor is locked up...

pump and heater both not working

so I guess we've narrowed this down to an electrical fault in the control panel, rather than a broken pump and heater?

pump and heater both not working

ok I'll try to explain. In normal operation, for the past years I've always operated everything in auto. Occasionally though I've needed to drain the spa. So to do that I put the panel on Service mode and select "Spa-drain", when i do that the valves move and then I press the Pump button. The...

pump and heater both not working

I've turned all the breakers off several times over the past days including all the other breakers and turned off the main power switch to the house for 10 minutes. When you say photo's of the panel you mean unscrew the inside?

pump and heater both not working

Hi guiness, that's exactly my control panel and when I switch to service, I was previously always able to operate the pump. Now however when I press P nothing happens except as you have suggested, there is a loud click which I thought was perhaps a relay operating and trying to send power to the...

pump and heater both not working

I'm hoping someone can give me a bit of advice. This morning I noticed the pool pump didn't come on. I had a look at the control panel. It has power but switching but the pump isn't working. The motorized valves are operating ok and I noticed that there seems no power to the heater. I can't see...

    Keep splitting pool hoses

Thanks for all the advice. I'm going to conclude it's a combination of age and maybe over chlorinating. To be honest I'm not sure what age the split hoses are because when I got the Poolvergnuegen I used all the new hoses but kept all the older ones and as hoses failed I replaced them with older...

    Keep splitting pool hoses

well as far as I can tell the cleaner stops and swivels every 30 seconds or so. The hose doesn't get twisted like a pretzel or anything and when it turns I can hold the leader hose and that doesn't turn. I may be over chlorinating a bit for spells when I'm away on business; so I'm wondering if...

hI, and thanks for the reply. The hoses remain the pool. Never take them out. As far as I know it never meets an obstacle. Yes I do use the flow regulator
