Wow! This pump rocks! Still got have to get the SWG hooked up, but the pump is filtering that water like crazy. Going to let it filter overnight. Probably overkill. Next is the SWG then the skimmer. Be time to close it for winter by then. :lol:

Thanks. I am using 1/2" tape and am not exactly a expert DIYer. It seemed hard enough to screw it in with a couple of wraps and I was worried about cracking the end. I will try it with a bit more aggressiveness and more tape.

Spent the day playing with it and all is good except for the fittings to to the SWG. How did you get a nice tight seal to it?

Excellent point! I will do exactly that.

I put a 90 degree 2" PVC pipe on my return so it keeps the pool swirling. With the newer more powerful pump, I will probably direct it downward and a little to one side with a 45 degree elbow. I would think that keeping the water stirred up would help to keep the pool cleaner.

It came with a basic skimmer that is in the pool. I got the replacement because it will provide for a better vacuum attachment and not be an eyesore in the pool.

I got a skimmer I am adding along with the inlet on the pool: Both are 1.5" so I will use the Y to go to a 2" pipe to the filter.
