    Filter replacement to a CC200

12k and screened. I'm just hoping for maybe a better flow rate and less clogging.

    Filter replacement to a CC200

    Any downside to replacing a CC150 with a CC200?

Gas detected when running new Mastertemp 250

Thanks for the answer. I didn't think of it in those terms. The detector is super sensitive, which you want to detect a gas line leak. I think the blower somewhat pressurizes the combustion chamber maybe and the seals aren't really the greatest. I don't ever smell gas, even when I get really close.

Gas detected when running new Mastertemp 250

I just finished install of a new mastertemp 250 running on nat gas. no gas leaks anywhere testing with a digital tester in the 50 to 500 PPM range. when the hater kicks on and combustion starts up the meter detects at the blower to combustion chamber interface. It pegs high at 500ppm. Is this...

    Mastertemp 250 repair

Heater is only 7 years old. Just replaced the hls. I'm trying to decide if replacing the lid is worth it (and how to accomplish that with the gas piping holding everything in place).

    Mastertemp 250 repair

No water in it. I just removed the old igniter and it took the rusted metal with it.

    Mastertemp 250 repair

is there any way to repair this without having to purchase a new heater? This is the igniter location. Top surface completely rusted through due to rodents.

    IC20 high salt flashing

Re: IC20 height salt flashing Water temp is 86. No automation. I use the K-1766 kit to test salt level. The cell is about 4 years old.

    IC20 high salt flashing

My IC20 started flashing green indicating high salt. I tested it a few times and my salt level is approximately 3000ppm. I cleaned the cell and it still flashes. I've searched and can't seem to find any info on this. My CYA is 70, FC is 2-4ppm and PH 7.6. When I turn on the cell the green...

    Just curious

As a side note - Someone else on the forum (I forget who) created an excel spreadsheet to calculate the amount of CL created in a pool from the SWCG. I took it a step further, and I see now that yes, indeed, my SWCG is working as it should. Thanks for all the help and I will share what I added...

My water looks great! Pool surface looks clean.

    Just curious

That was my first thought as well. I just got done with a week long mustard algae slam and finally killed everything. I cleaned the filter right at the end of the slam while FC was still in the 40's. I have passed the OCLT every night for the past 4 nights that i have been measuring. I am going...

    Just curious

I just looked up the spec for my filter (Pentair CCRP 100) and it says 48000 gal turnover in 8 hours. That looks like the right size to me.

    Just curious

Yes the SWG was off. I was wondering about that. I'm thinking about calling Pentair and letting them know what this pool builder is doing to customers. It makes Pentair look bad when an irresponsible builder cuts corners with their equipment.

Filter is 100 sq ft. Just checked the OCLT and still at 6.5ppm

    Just curious

The one I have now says IC20 on it. I never payed close attention to the label before so I don't know if it could have have been an IC40.

    Just curious

I don't think so. I have a cartridge filter and clean it every two weeks.

Right at 75. Same as last year. Also I have been doing an OCLT for the last three nights and no drop in FC at all. No CC either. Here are my numbers: FC 6.5 CC 0 TA 80 CYA 75 CH 380 PH 7.5

    Just curious

I have a 11,800 gallon pool in central Florida. I have the Pentair IC20 SWG. my equipment is under a three year warranty with 1.5 years left from the pool builder. I run the SWG at 80% for 8 hours a day to maintain FC. Does that sound reasonable? I swear last summer I didn't need to run it...

    Killing mustard algae

My lights don't come out of there niches. I have LED lights. They are screwed in with an oring to protect it. I would have to drop the pool level to open them up.

    Killing mustard algae

Alright. I think it passed this morning. My first test didn't, but I always do it twice for sanity. It seems you can not put enough dpd powder in the sample or something. Anyway, second test showed a 1ppm difference and less than .5 CC. I'm going to clean the filter again this morning as...

    Killing mustard algae

I have been running the pump 24 hours a day during the process. Should I not be running it? I also cleaned the filter right before I started slamming. I did scrub around the lights, cleaned the light covers, put all the pool toys and floats in the pool yesterday around 5PM. Maybe that extended...

    Killing mustard algae

Dang. Failed again this morning. I lost 9ppm FC last night. I've gone through 14 gallons of CL for a 12,000 gallon pool so far and I'm on day 5 of this. I HATE mustard algae.

    Killing mustard algae

Thanks for all the help. I was starting to worry I was leaving it at high CL concentration for too long, as I am going into my 4th day at 45ppm. Hopefully it will get there tonight.

    Killing mustard algae

I lost about 4.5ppm last night. The 2 measurements were taken at 11:30PM and 7AM. The sun was coming up, but the pool was not in direct sunlight yet. Does that matter?

    Killing mustard algae

I'll start off with my stats: FC: 45ppm TA: 75ppm CYA: 70ppm pH: 7.2 CA: 300ppm So I started by slamming the pool and held it until it passed the OCLT. Then I raised it up to the mustard algae level. It's been at that level for well over 24 hours and its not passing the OCLT. Does this mean...
