Pool Builder Issues - Advice Needed

I do but unfortunately I did not take detailed photos myself. I don't have anything that shows the skimmers directly. I have CCTV footage of the entire build I can review if that's helpful. These are from the PB's ready for gunite job report: Here is another picture of the skimmer from...

Pool Builder Issues - Advice Needed

My pool was finished in late August of 2017. I reported apparent leaks around the skimmers in April of 2018 and as of last week a bucket test still shows we are losing a significant amount of water. I've been consistently adding 3-4 inches of water a week for years. Between then and now they...

Let Pool Guy Go - Calcium Scaling?

I have a softner. Didn't think and originally tested my kitchen tap water - surprise no calcium! I don't think any of my hose bibs near the pool are softened. I do have one on the other side of the house for a RV to use. Also the amount of water I need to add weekly due to my leak issues would...

Let Pool Guy Go - Calcium Scaling?

Just tested it - 650. Also dealing with PB to fix leaks. I've been adding 3 to 4 inches a week for the longest time.

Let Pool Guy Go - Calcium Scaling?

Thanks - I was thinking finding someone to do RO might be the only way to bring CH down. I'm on hard well water and I see the water delivery trucks filling up down the road also using a well -probably from the same aquifer I'm on. Could that work, have them bring it way down and then the water...

Let Pool Guy Go - Calcium Scaling?

Moved into a new house and had a pool built 2 years ago. Initially maintained it myself but I got lazy and hired a pool guy at the end of last summer. "Everything included" - no need to worry about anything. The guy was cool seemed knowledgeable and was able to fix a few things I hadn't figured...

    High FC & CYA

I think I might be good after the refill. Tested last night after 15 hours running the filter. FC = 10.5 (tested 12 on second test, forgot to do CC) CC = .5 TA = 120 CH = 600 PH = 7.7 CYA = 70 with 100% pool water sample and 35 with 50% distilled water. So overall I think my 70 reading is...

    High FC & CYA

Took some new measurements when the pool still had about 2 feet left to fill. FC 12.5 PH 7.5 TA 120 CH 600 CYA 90-100 Finally finished filling around 2330, switched the automatic chlorination device off and turned the pump on. Looks like my water comes from the pipe with high...

    High FC & CYA

From reading in pool school I'm assuming my high CYA levels are due to the fact that my pool has an automatic chlorinator that uses the pucks? It was set to 5, almost the highest setting. I've since changed it to a setting of 2. I might switch it off and just start using liquid bleach.

    High FC & CYA

This was yesterday afternoon. I drained 50-60% of the water last night and started filling it this morning. Hopefully it doesn't overflow before I get home from work :-D Also, I was told that this pool automatically fills itself. In the 5 months I've lived here I've never had to add water to...
