Poolmath change to recommended Calcium Hardness levels

HI Chaps, It's the start of the season here in Australia and i did the full set of tests in order to balance the pool for the coming months. Not looking too bad, except the CH levels. My levels tested at 290 (with the TF100) which, when i Last looked at pool math, was in the goal 250-350 range...

Chlorine levels when adding salt to pool

Hi Dibbler You are correct, I am in Australia - Sydney in fact. The rains messed up the pool when it overflowed. I also ran out of FAS-DPD halfway through slamming it as well but it seems to have cleared. Im adding the sun ray salt from bunnings. I know some say it's not good quality salt but...

Chlorine levels when adding salt to pool

Hi I am in the processing of balancing my pool again after some heavy rains, which caused the pool to turn green. I"ve been SLAMming the pool with liquid chlorine until the water is clear but I noticed this morning when i looked at my SWG that it's complaing of low salt. I tested the salt...

    Rising CH - Causes?

Thanks for that chem geek As for the rising CH do you think that a negtive CSI > 0.6 will cause CH to rise that quickly? or is it more likely evaporation + fill?

    Rising CH - Causes?

hi again \ After plugging my numbers into the poolmath I See that due to the salt requirement for my SWCG (currently level is 3800) my CSI is actually quite negative anyway. In fact it looks like I should let PH go up a bit and raise TA, would that be correct?

    Rising CH - Causes?

Hello It's been 5 months since we filled our new pool. Since then CH has been rising, which i gather is normal for a concrete pool. However, I tested my water the other day and these were the results: CH 400 FC 6.5 TA 50 CYA 70 PH 7.6 The CH has risen by 100 since I last tested a month or so...

Low speed pumps causing gas bubbles

Milbogo I have a Viron p320 pump and a VIron vph25 chlorinator which is basically the same the as the VX7 but includes PH control as well. I run my p320 all day on low speed with no gas build up, so I don't think you can say that it's always going to be a problem. I was careful however to...

    Recommended FC level with SWCG

Hi BoDarville Thanks for that! Now I'm curious as to why the pool calculator says 3 is the suggested level instead of the minimum level. Do you know why it says taht?

    Recommended FC level with SWCG

Hi All My TF100 test results are currently this: FC 3 CC 0 TA 70 PH 7.6 CH 300 CYA 70 SALT 3800 So I think pretty balanced for SWCG. If i up the FC level on the chlorine generator one point (i.e from 6 to 7) FC shoots up to 5.5. IS it better to run FC at 5.5 or OK to run at 3. I know the...

Newbie - looking for cleaner advice

hi Nate I'm in Sydney as well and just built a pool. I got my PB to supply a 'The Pool Cleaner' as they are rated highly here and now have a 6 year warranty in Aus. You can pick them up from Swimart shops or any decent pool shop. Of the pool shops I spoke to they steered me away from the MX 8...

Hi mick I have one of those viron ph chlorinators. It has not had that error on its display but mine is installed in an enclosure which might keep it cooler. i would suggest you give astral a ring at their head office in Melbourne as they have technical support there so hopefully someone will...
