Ummmm, I'm confused.....I thought aerating will lower your TA which helps buffer your pH. MA lowers your pH. So....if you aerate and lower TA will it not help stabilize the pH?

Do you test your pool for FC and CC? I check for chlorine and pH every day but was curious who does the full test daily? The BBB method is working GREAT! I was planning on doing the full test on a weekly basis and testing for pH and chlorine on a daily basis. Is this wrong?

Yes, only de in spa. I ran the spa filter @ 30 minutes and switched back to pool filter. DE powder was gone, debris started coming out of the return in the spa.

The 2nd pic is after we back washed and added the DE powder. It appears the DE powder is shooting out of the spa return.

Poured 20 gallons of extra strength bleach directly in my filter and my house blew up! Any suggestions :D Thanks again for all the help. 1 gallon a day til my kit arrives.

What can we do in the meantime to shock our pool with bleach? How many gallons? Do not want to go buy more "shock" and we ran out when I shocked it last Saturday.

Ok, ordering a better test kit. In the mean time, had water tested at pool store. FC 8 TC 8 CYA 90 TA 90 pu 7.4 TDS 800 Phosphates 1000 Was told by pool store that it was mustard algae (showed them some pics.)
