Would you be okay with this?

I asked my neighbor if he would be willing to cut down two trees so I would not have the limbs/leaves over the pool. He said he had been wanting to take them down anyway, so we split the cost! Never hurts to ask, all they can say is no.

South Texas Viking "Poseidon" Fiberglass Install (Before & After Pics)

Re: S. Texas Viking "Poseidon" Fiberglass Install and After Pics (Lots) Great looking pool! I like seeing the fiberglass installs. I Was leaning towards fiberglass but could not find a layout that fit our needs. I really like the flagstone coping. It ties in nicely with the walk to the pool...

    AquaComfort vs Hayward Heat Pump?

I have an AquaComfort model. I have been happy with it, but I have only had it for about a month. I have a two speed pump and the heater does run on the low speed. I keep mine at 85. It does a nice job of getting the water back up to 85. I have a solar cover, and during the cooler nights it...

    Considering owner/builder in Raleigh, NC

Josh, the sale guy, was great to with, overall I think that they a pretty good job on the install. I think they are used to doing things their way and do not like to stray much from it. As far as the heater, we decided last year that due to the angle of the sun, we needed a heater after July...

    Considering owner/builder in Raleigh, NC

I had my pool put in last year by Rising Sun Pools. They handled the pool construction, but the electrical and concrete was my choice. They gave me list of recommended contractors, and I chose for that list. Harte Pool and Electric is who I would recommend for the electrical. Very professional...

Update - Water In - Final pieces remain South Jersey Build

Re: New build in South Jersey - Pictures included You might want to look at the Sonos Connect. This is for use with an existing system. I have one connected to a receiver driving 2 speakers on the upper level deck and 2 poolside speakers. It is nice having the music in the house, on deck and...

Update - Water In - Final pieces remain South Jersey Build

Re: New build in South Jersey - Pictures included My sister-in-law has roughly the same layout. Very nice, comfortable pool. You may want to consider an extra return on the sun shelf to help move dirt and leaves down to where the cleaner can get it. I have yet to be convinced that gunite...

    Automation Upgrade / Questions

I have a Hayward Prologic PL-P-4 with the wireless controller. With this I can control a two speed pump, booster pump, heater, lights and one relay for turning on the deck jets. It gives a salt reading as well as pool and air temp. I bought right before the Omnilogic was released, and that looks...

    Concrete counter

What is the base made from, looks like a stained wood. I have pressure treated frame built, and was wondering about wood doors. Looking forward to see the outcome here.

    Gunite vs Fiberglass

I was ALL bent on fiberglass, until I could not find a shape that worked with my particular requirements. I decided to go for cost savings and went with Vinyl. I personally could not justify the cost of the gunite, as I was fairly locked into a shape. I couldn't be happier with my choice.

Does the concrete truck cause damage to your driveway?

They used the motorized buggies for mine. I do not recall there being an extra cost for the buggies, but the pumper was going to add about an extra grand for mine. They laid down plywood the whole way to the back yard so as not to damage the grass. Pretty cool to see how good they were driving them

Sometimes you need to remove the device before adding it - as if that makes any sense.

Planning Stage - Need your woulda/shoulda/coulda

I can only speak for the Hayward equipment, but yes it can be added after the fact. I can also be found cheaper than getting it from the PB.

Planning Stage - Need your woulda/shoulda/coulda

I will second the automation. I love being able to control my filter, lights, and deck jets from my phone or IPad. Also, I know you mentioned stone, but if there is a decision for a concrete deck, I would suggest Pour-A-Lids for the skimmer tops. They are only about $60 and I think that they...

Hayward Aquaconnect vs Tabletop wireless remote

Hey sky - my delay is 2-4 seconds as well from iOS and Android. I find the using the AquaConnect website to be much slower. I wonder why none of the interfaces seem to disable or change the state of the buttons until it receives a response.

Were my pool stairs installed properly?

That looks totally wrong to me. Personally for me that would be totally unacceptable, there should not be a way for the water to get behind the liner.

    Low PSI Fix

I had been experiencing low pressure on filter. After reading other posts about low PSI, I was able to determine the cause. A glob of hair the size of a small rat was stuck in the impeller. I am sure this would had been a expensive service call. So I wanted to thank everyone on the forum!

    Pump/Filter under a deck?

I have my equipment under my deck. My deck is about 8' off the ground so clearance is not an issue. It does seem to reverberate sound more than if it was out in the open.

    Pool light "repair"

So I am on the beginning of week three with my new pool. Last Friday I had the pool company out to fix some last remaining issues. One thing that I wanted "fixed" was the start color for my lights, PAL-2T2. In order to correct the light, the pool guy unhooked one of them at the junction add then...

    Deck Jets

We have three of them pointed to the center of the deep end, which I think looks good. Initially my wife did not think they were worth the cost, but has since changed her mid. The kids love them of course. As far as turning on and off, depends on how far you value is from the pool. Mine is...
