    First Test Readings!

I have folded paper towels and put into the skimmer basket, change out every hour & the towels are yellowish/brown. Definitely metals! I am seeing the water a little more clear/less green than yesterday. Water has circulated on low over night and I turned it up to high this morning. Will be...

Next step while filling up pool

I added about 1-1/4 gallon of chlorine and brushed the pool. By the time I was done I noticed a big difference. Doesn't seem to be as green. Could be all the sweat blinding my vision!!!

Next step while filling up pool

Pool only 1/2 full, unable to vacuum yet. It's a fine line right now since filling is slow, but you are right I don't want a green (algae) pool either while I'm waiting. Going to add about a gallon of chlorine and brush it into the pool to help circulate. Continue filling and add the last...

Next step while filling up pool

We do have metals in the water. It's the same well as our house and it will stain the toilet/tun/whites within a day. (We run a salt softener for the house) The water is now 1/2 full and a light Carribean green shade. Water is clear and I do see alittle sediment on the bottom (could be sand...

    Something under liner!!!

It was a big smile. This is our first pool. I worked the past 13 years at a pool supply company that has since shut down & growing up we had a pool. But this is our first pool together and I talked dear hubby into installing it ourselves to save $1500. A couple of times we regretted not...

    Something under liner!!!

We Fixed IT!!! We had to remove four sections of the top rail, coping and plastic stabilizer rails, two people got into the pool and pulled the liner up and into the pool far enough for me to reach the cap cover with the skim net. The water was about calf high but with about three pulls we...

    Something under liner!!!

The liner has been installed and as we're filling I noticed one of the decorative rail cap covers must have fell under the liner! The object is about 8" frim the side & the water is about 8-12" high. I have stopped the water filling. Should we try to remove 3-4 of the top rails, the stabilizer...

New Pool Setup-Ready to hard plumb- What size PVC?

We are ready to hard plumb our A/G pool. What size PVC should we use considering the second skimmer & return are 60+ feet from the pump/filter? We thought that 2" would be good then reduce to 1-1/2" 6" from equipment. Any advice would be appreciated.
