Did you not back up your data prior to updating?

    Pool Math........The App

Totally understand. Just wanted to make sure it didn't slip through the cracks. I am on Nougat, on a Google Pixel, if that helps.

    Pool Math........The App

Leebo, I know you are busy with higher priority bugs, but just wanted to make sure you saw the android icon bug a number of us reported a bit back in this thread. Thanks for all your hard work!

    Pool Math........The App

After the latest Android app update, the icon has changed from the pool/math symbols to the generic Android robot icon. Both in the app drawer and for the shortcut I placed on the home screen. Not sure if it's related to the server issues, or a separate issue.

First night swim. That was a mistake!

Also consider giving Thermacells a try.

Hayward narrow skimmer v.s. wide mouth skimmer

The Hayward wide mouth is the standard mouth skimmer with an attachment on it to widen the port that attaches to the pool. Both eventually funnel back into the same size opening. Because of the attachment, the wide mouth skimmer will be suspended farther from the pool wall, so that's a...

Custom PVC Pipe Adapter for Intex Pools

If you're talking about the adapter in that Lowes link you posted, no, that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that most store bought threaded pvc stuff won't work (or work as easily), since the intex threads are non-standard. You can make your own adapter with the Carlon part, a threaded...

Custom PVC Pipe Adapter for Intex Pools

I believe the backwash port has the same threads as the other ports on my intex sand filter.

I have done everything i was told to do

Oh, and in the meantime, check out pool school and get familiar with Pool Math. It's going to become your best friend.

I have done everything i was told to do

It's all good. You have some work ahead of you, but once you've righted the ship, you'll be on track to much lower costs to maintain your pool.

I have done everything i was told to do

Littlesnail81, Continuing to buy products at the pool store and adding them to your pool will only cause you more issues, and will not be compatible with the advice you will receive here. Every time you add powdered/granulated "shock" products or use chlorine "pucks" (or really just about...

Custom PVC Pipe Adapter for Intex Pools

The problem is that Intex uses non-standard threads on their products, so off-the-shelf products don't typically work. What you need to make the custom coupler is a 1 1/2" PVC box adapter. These are found in the electrical department at the big box stores. The ones I used were Carlon brand...

Anyone ever TFP their friend's pool "just because"

I say let them continue getting pool stored until they have to drain and refill due to "high TDS," then approach them with TFP care help again. They might be more ready to try it, and it'll be easier to fix.

10 X 30 Easy Set Intex Pool and Leveling

If you check my build thread, you'll see the one I made. Worked well.

10 X 30 Easy Set Intex Pool and Leveling

Ahh, gotcha. I started with one of those pools too. If the overall area is flat and solid, you should be in good shape. As far as the carpet squares go, I'd be prepared for a wet, rotting mess that may smell bad after a few weeks.

Intex saltwater water system salt ppm woes and general Rust prevention questions?

Generally speaking, CYA levels for SWG pools need to be higher. Mine's around 70. CYA granules are fine, but they dissolve slowly and you don't want to just dump them in the pool because (as you have discovered), they just drop to the bottom and sit there. Most people pour them into a cotton...

10 X 30 Easy Set Intex Pool and Leveling

Efranklin, sounds like you're close. Having your center be slightly deeper than the frame won't be a big deal, IMO. If your liner is only resting on the ground or maybe on a tarp, you may notice slight unevenness underfoot, but it probably won't be a big deal. Generally, if your variation in...

Beginner Starter Pool just filled - few questions

That drip test is better than the strips that come with the HTH pack, but you can't test CYA with it. This forum doesn’t generally recommend powdered "shock" products or pucks/tablets. Check out pool school for more info.

    The pool is ours...

Get one of the recommended test kits and add the Taylor K-1766 (I believe) salt test kit to it. I would buy (actually, I DID buy) the TF100.

10 X 30 Easy Set Intex Pool and Leveling

It's more important to have the outer ring be level than it is to have the middle and the outer ring the same. Some make the middle a bit deeper, I just made the whole thing flat (see my build thread in my sig). And it's not advisable to dig dirt from the high end and "move it around," which I...

    Question

Usually, CYA results are rounded up to the next "10" number, so 25 would be read as 30. Better to under-add and have to add more, than over add and get CYA too high.

    Cheap heater

I run my pump through my Hayward skimmer with the cover on. My pump is strong enough to rotate the whole cover on the water surface, and the skimmer doesn't suck the cover in. I do also have the original underwater intake plumbed into the system, just in case the skimmer would get starved of...

Intex saltwater water system salt ppm woes and general Rust prevention questions?

Your pH reading will not be reliable with a FC above 10. And you definitely need some CYA in your pool, or you'll continue dropping to zero FC without constant attention. Don't overshoot, though. Bring the CYA up in steps. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Making solar cover saddles (holders) for Intex pool today.

I used large zip ties for my PVC solar cover brackets last summer, and they held up fine through the swimming season. Some minor slippage on the frame, but overall worked fine. This summer I decided to upgrade a bit and bought stainless steel hose clamps and some rubber gasket material. Cut...

    App

It sucks for iPhone users that Pool Pal isn't available for iOS. It really is useful. Maybe contact the developer and see if they'll write an iOS version? It's free, but I'd pay for it. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
