Thanks for the advice. PH came up so I added some more acid. FC came down one point. CYA was at 40 prior to rain but I did not reckeck it. TA was unchanged. Will check FC level just after dark and adjust if necessary.

Right in the middle of SLAMing we got slammed with a huge downpour that added a good two inches of water to the pool. Do I need to start all over or just maintain my 16 FC level?

I'm in the process of SLAMing and there is no more green stuff in the pool. Everything is now just murky and there is dull grey sediment on the bottom of the pool. Should I be running my Polaris while SLAMing to keep the water churned up or should I let everything settle and vacuum?

muriatic acid...done. bleach...done. stableizer...done. I also did a retest on the CYA as suggested and only had to add half the amount of CYA. I had my wife check behind me. We both agreed that the black dot in the bottom of the viewing tube was slightly visible...a few additional drops...

Already put the figures in the calculator. I will retest before I raise the CYA. The black dot at the bottom of the tube almost disappeared as I could barely see it so I added a few more drops until it was completely gone. Second test is in order. My wife already brought 6 pounds home...guess...

Had the lens changed. Now the light illuminates the entire pool much more subtlety.

I just completed my first test with the TF 100 test kit and the results are in. <Drum roll> Pool Temp 85; FC - 1.0; pH -8.2; TA - 100; CH - 90; CYA - 20. My pH is always high. Had some aquarium tested yesterday and the pH read 8.5 which is OK for salt water fish. That's what is coming out...

I'm OK with the one light. I just can't find any pics on the web that compare wide angle to narrow angle. Your pool must be really bright with having the three lights.

The pool builder installed an LED Intellibrite 5g light under the diving board. My pool is 20 x 40 (eight feet deep) The lens from the light is factory set to Wide Angle. The light illuminates the deep end really well but not the shallow end. The lens on the light can be set to Narrow Angle...

My FC is a 1. Checked the bac pac and it was empty and I don't have a refil on hand. Is it safe to use bleach when I've been using Trichlor tabs? And can I go back to using Trichlor tabs after adding bleach? I know it's all chlorine, but still learning and not sure how it all works. Oh...

OK, so I ordered the much discussed TF 100 w/magnetic stirrer. Wondering if anyone has tips or suggestions on using this test kit. Is there a recommended order of testing? Do I need to do all the tests that the kit comes with if I have a vinyl pool?
