    Is my TA OK?

Interesting reading on the Stenner pump. I may have to look into it.

    Is my TA OK?

Tim, I agree on the money savings. My problem is staying on top of checking daily and adding the bleach. I just don't always have time to do it like it should be done...but I will give it another shot. Thanks for the advice. I found what I was looking for in one of the links.

    Is my TA OK?

So on the Pool Pal app, it suggests a TA of 100-120. I should shoot to keep my TA at 110?

    Is my TA OK?

I actually do a hybrid if you want to call it that. I use bleach for shock, baking soda to raise the TA, MA to lower the pH, and trichlor 1" tabs that I put into a converted frog PAC. I do use the twice a year mineral pack which allows for lower chlorine levels. I put algaecide in only once at...

    Is my TA OK?

This morning my level tested like this: TA 90 pH 7.6 FC 3.5 CH 100 CYA 40 Temp 74 My question...using the TFP app to do my logs, the LSI says my pool water is corrosive. If I adjust the TA to read 110 the LSI says it's all balanced. Should I raise my TA to 110? For several days I have been...

    Massive downpour during SLAMing..now what?

Thanks for the advice. PH came up so I added some more acid. FC came down one point. CYA was at 40 prior to rain but I did not reckeck it. TA was unchanged. Will check FC level just after dark and adjust if necessary.

    Massive downpour during SLAMing..now what?

Right in the middle of SLAMing we got slammed with a huge downpour that added a good two inches of water to the pool. Do I need to start all over or just maintain my 16 FC level?

Should I run the Polaris while SLAMing?

Thanks. I will carry on with the SLAMing and stick to vacuuming.

Should I run the Polaris while SLAMing?

I'm in the process of SLAMing and there is no more green stuff in the pool. Everything is now just murky and there is dull grey sediment on the bottom of the pool. Should I be running my Polaris while SLAMing to keep the water churned up or should I let everything settle and vacuum?

First test with TF 100 test kit...

muriatic acid...done. bleach...done. stableizer...done. I also did a retest on the CYA as suggested and only had to add half the amount of CYA. I had my wife check behind me. We both agreed that the black dot in the bottom of the viewing tube was slightly visible...a few additional drops...

First test with TF 100 test kit...

Already put the figures in the calculator. I will retest before I raise the CYA. The black dot at the bottom of the tube almost disappeared as I could barely see it so I added a few more drops until it was completely gone. Second test is in order. My wife already brought 6 pounds home...guess...

First test with TF 100 test kit...

I just completed my first test with the TF 100 test kit and the results are in. <Drum roll> Pool Temp 85; FC - 1.0; pH -8.2; TA - 100; CH - 90; CYA - 20. My pH is always high. Had some aquarium tested yesterday and the pH read 8.5 which is OK for salt water fish. That's what is coming out...

    Intellibrite lighting question

Pool tech is changing lens to narrow on Friday. If I don't like it I'll just change it back. I hoping for the best.

    Intellibrite lighting question

I'm OK with the one light. I just can't find any pics on the web that compare wide angle to narrow angle. Your pool must be really bright with having the three lights.

    Intellibrite lighting question

The pool builder installed an LED Intellibrite 5g light under the diving board. My pool is 20 x 40 (eight feet deep) The lens from the light is factory set to Wide Angle. The light illuminates the deep end really well but not the shallow end. The lens on the light can be set to Narrow Angle...

Just put two jugs in. Hopefully the test kit will be here tomorrow and come tomorrow night I'll be testing away. Thanks.

Out of Trichlor Tabs, can I just use bleach?

Heading to the pool to pour in the bleach. So, I still have the question about the available chlorine in the jug. Is it the 7.86% number I should be putting in the pool calculator?

Out of Trichlor Tabs, can I just use bleach?

I can't test my CYA yet. I only guess it's in the 40's because of the past three test the pool store ran and it was in the 40's each time. My kit shipped today and hopefully it will get here tomorrow. The pool is crystal clear. I am using the pool frog and will be switching over. Just not...

Out of Trichlor Tabs, can I just use bleach?

My FC is a 1. Checked the bac pac and it was empty and I don't have a refil on hand. Is it safe to use bleach when I've been using Trichlor tabs? And can I go back to using Trichlor tabs after adding bleach? I know it's all chlorine, but still learning and not sure how it all works. Oh...

    Ordered TF100 w/magnetic stirrer...tips???

OK, so I ordered the much discussed TF 100 w/magnetic stirrer. Wondering if anyone has tips or suggestions on using this test kit. Is there a recommended order of testing? Do I need to do all the tests that the kit comes with if I have a vinyl pool?

    Pool loves muriatic acid...

From reading posts about the pool frog I knew the first recommendation would be to ditch the frog. And I already am panning on the high quality test kit purchase. The first two times I got robbed at the spool store was because of the BioGuard computer test results. And the manager could not...

    Pool loves muriatic acid...

Hello All. I'm a new pool owner. Most current test results: Watertemp 88; FC 2.0; pH 8.2; TA 100; CH not tested as I have a cheap test kit from the dreaded pool store; CYA by SWAG is in the 40's and I base this upon the last three BioGuard results that the pool store gave me (while selling me...
