I keep on getting scale and some red clay stains in the pool... Pain in the rear end!! I don't know how to stop them.. I shocked the pool because it was green when I got home from work??

When I first tested it the Ph was above 8.2... Would that have turned the pool green? I shocked the pool last night and it cleated it up. Or could be cause I had no Cya in the pool?

I guess I will pull the pucks and start adding bleach. Is there a formula for the amount of bleach per size of pool? Going to wait to turn the salt cell back on and add salt until spring break.

When I turned my SWG off....I know I know!!! But I had a weird thing happen. I had some either metal or organic stains on the creases of steps and by using pucks this winter they all disappeared.... Could I be imagining that?? I know you use pucks to test stains, but could they also remove them...
