Okay, I’ll turn it off now. My FC went up overnight from 26 to 29. I took out the sock this morning. I’m between 30 and 40 CYA. I was shooting for 24 FC because that’s the minimum for SWG SLAM. Now that I’m already so high, should I let it fall to 16 and then maintain there?

If there’s anything left in the morning I’ll take it out and test it again. One more question, should I turn off the SWG during the SLAM process? I have it on now thinking it would help keep the FC level up.

I've been monitoring it every day and the pH hasn't moved, neither has the TA. I'm going to let it ride until there is an issue.

I want to avoid frequently adding MA as much as possible... Lowering the TA should help to keep the pH steady, right? Does anyone have any experience adding borates? I read that will also keep the pH down, but I'm a newbie so how difficult is it? What do you do if the borate level gets too high?

This one definitely has them, the SWG is about 4 years old now. I'm wondering now if I just need a completely new SWG. I will try to disconnect the copper part. If I have to buy a new SWG it won't be connected until next season. Can I just use liquid chlorine for the rest of this season?
