    Sundance spa headrests dissolving?

Here are a couple of pics of the cover for reference. Definitely different colors but the inner portion above the water is wet and the outer is dry so it’s hard for me to tell?

How important is the Clearray and Mineral Cartridge for sanitation and chemistry

I am re-familiarizing myself with the process of keeping the chemical levels correct in my Sundance spa. During the last water change I went ahead and purchased a new Clearray bulb (and cleaned the tube it sits in). The manual mentions changing the bulb once a year. I also change the Mineral...

    Sundance spa headrests dissolving?

I checked with my local Dealer who I purchased the hot tub from and they said that Sundance doesn't have any type of warranty on the pillows, not even a 30 day. I went ahead and purchased new pillows.

    Sundance spa headrests dissolving?

I turn on the jets and then add bleach into the hot tub seating area. I leave on for 2-5 minutes then leave the cover off for another 5-10 minutes to air out.

    Sundance spa headrests dissolving?

Thank you for the info! I will take a look at the spa cover to see if there is any difference in color from the middle to the edge. I check the ph every time I check the fc, but seems like I need to do both more often.

    Sundance spa headrests dissolving?

We have the ‘Cameo’ spa which has the ClearRay UV system but I just looked through the owners manual and no mention of an ozonator. The tech also highly recommended the ‘mineral cartridge’ but not sure I really believe in it. I have neglected to ‘shock’ the hot tub so that may be a factor with...

    Sundance spa headrests dissolving?

I haven’t contacted them yet. About eight months ago the chrome internal grab handles had some rust on them and they came out and replaced them under warranty but didn’t like the fact of how I was sanitizing the hot tub at that point. I will try them and see what they say. Thanks

    Sundance spa headrests dissolving?

Purchased a new Sundance spa two years ago and have relied on the forum for water balance. Noticed that all 3 of the headrests are being affected by the chemicals or is it normal for them to go bad after just a couple of years? Whenever I add bleach I leave the spa uncovered for 5-10 minutes to...

    Black ‘smudges’ in new pool

Thank you for the reply! I was wondering if that was a possibility even though pre-gunite they spent a few hours looking for rebar and metal wire and I even looked around some as well. I will get a chlorine puck and see what that does for it. Thanks again!

    Black ‘smudges’ in new pool

Hi all, We had a pool built last Winter and about half way through our swim season I noticed a few small black spots in the bottom of our pool and one up near the tile near the water line. There are 3-4 spots and in Summer I could scrub them with a brass brush and get about half of the black to...

Intellichem recommends no higher than 35 CYA or it voids warranty??

Update: I contacted the PB and they are going to remove the Intellichem system and refund the amount paid for it. I’m optimistic that they will follow through, but time will tell. Thanks again for your advice and I feel better about it just checking and maintaining the chemicals manually.

Intellichem recommends no higher than 35 CYA or it voids warranty??

mknauss, I definitely should have come on the forum and asked about the Intellichem system. I was thinking that the new technology sounded great, my goof! Thank you for your input, I appreciate it! I have asked the PB to remove the Intellichem, we'll see what they have to say. Thanks again!

Intellichem recommends no higher than 35 CYA or it voids warranty??

Here are the fill water results: FC 1 PH 7.7 TA 30 CH 20 I’m also considering not using the Intellichem system for multiple reasons. Along with them not wanting CYA levels over 50, the plastic hose that runs from the Muriatic Axid tank to the return plumbing developed a small leak and sprayed...

Intellichem recommends no higher than 35 CYA or it voids warranty??

Oly, Thanks for the info! I will use your advice when adding CYA to the pool. The main reason for my post was that Intellichem warranty states that the CYA level should not go above 30-50 (I've also heard no more than 35) so that was the main reason for my post knowing that Pool School...

Intellichem recommends no higher than 35 CYA or it voids warranty??

Thanks for the info! I didn't realize it would take that many pucks to get to 35. I'll definitely add some stabilizer to get that bumped up.

Intellichem recommends no higher than 35 CYA or it voids warranty??

Pool Service wasn't too happy that I added CH and TA levels and they told me that they get the levels sorted out over the 30 day span. They also mentioned that they never go over 200 CH on a pebble pool. I think I've made the right choice in not continuing on with their 'service'. Thank you for...

Intellichem recommends no higher than 35 CYA or it voids warranty??

Current numbers: FC 4 PH7.6 TA 70 CH 300 CYA ? under 30 and I'm guessing around 15? The CH is a little lower than suggested for a SWG, but I haven't added salt yet and figured I can bump up the CH a little after salt is added and SWG works in warmer temps.

Intellichem recommends no higher than 35 CYA or it voids warranty??

I decided to focus on getting the pool balanced myself, so I upped the CH and TA levels over the weekend and am temporarily using pucks to help keep the FC level in the 3-5 range since the CYA level is not measurable (under 20) at this point. I figured the pucks will also slowly add in CYA to...

Intellichem recommends no higher than 35 CYA or it voids warranty??

They haven't said I can't adjust the levels, I was just giving them the benefit of the doubt (while also checking the levels on my own to verify). Our PB paid the 1st months dues to the pool service and I need to decide whether to keep them on board or do it myself (with TFP's help of course)...
