thanks! dh got the new pump hooked up last night and I wanted to go ahead and do the shock so I'd have my cya in place, but something just didn't seem right about putting the whole pack in at once!

1. the only reason I'm adding shock (dichlor) is to get CYA 2. this is a new fill (had to empty to replumb for new pump/filter/swg) so current levels are 0 3. I'm confused about the shock. according to the pool calc I am working with 1400 gallons, (I know, very tiny) so the calculator says...

I sent hubby to the pool store for cya which I thought from reading was part of the ingredients of dichlor and they sold him "quick shock" with ingredients of sodium dichloro-s-triasinetrione, dihydrate. is this the right stuff?
