Mars HP Pressure Side Cleaner Discontinued

Its actually a good unit. Kept my pool very clean last season. Unfortunatly the booster line was plumbed with flex line in the ground and it kept blowing holes at the connections underground. They replaced it with a robot. That said, the robot performs a much better job on actually...

Booster Pump Install - Where to plumb? [Picture]

Nod, I have the same setup you have other then I have a SWG cell in the mix. I will take a picture of my mine so you can see. Mind you, I would think twice about using the booster pump deal. I had a Mars HP (Booster pump) which the pool builder said would handle the tiger flex line...

New Photos of Deck and Pool area

Teppy... Love the patio furniture you have there... the lounger, side table and umbrella look great. How heavy is the umbrella setup? Do you leave it out there all the time? I was planning to get a setup like that, being a vinyl pool I am concerned with the stuff blowing into our pool.

    Liner Choices.....

I have the one on the right. We liked the grey stones/tiles which tie into our interlocking stone around the pool area. I don't understand one of the other posters problems with seeing dirt. I find the dirt jumps right out at you if there is any in the bottom. A couple pics below for you.

Best Way to Add Muriatic Acid?

I use an old cafeteria tray with a glass measuring cup. I pour the acid into the cup when it is sitting on top of the tray. Any problems I could just push the tray and cup into the pool. Removes the chances of drips happening on the concrete decking also. Then just pour the cup of acid into...

    Pool Fence Pictures need ideas

I am from Ontario also, I am not sure if it is a provincial building code or city code, but our wood perimeter fence had to be under 1.85 meters in height and over 1.5 meters to pass inspection. I did one half of our wood fencing in 3 days with a carpenter friend. I paid him a few bucks...

    aquabot,dolphin,blue diamond/pearl?

Im trying a Aquabot Turbo at the moment. It does clean well when its not stuck on my main drains. I have tried everything to get it to not hang up there. Seems futile though. I am debating ordering the Polaris covers for the drains or the smart pool smart rings. If I were to actually have...

I got mine for 99 bucks plus tax at a Pioneer Pools. Im in Southern Ontario. Not sure if there is one near midland. They had a big sale a few weeks back. I bought some patio furniture at a different location of there's a month after the sale last year and they gave me the sale price even...

    Tonedeaf's Pool build

Re: My new Pool build Are you leaving that wood deck there? I would tear that sucker out and go with the same decking you are using around the pool and put some 6x6's or columns in and create a pergola to make a nice shade spot to sit under in that corner and look out into the pool area...

Need a GlowBuoy by Thur. July 3 in zip 85202

I'm all for supporting those that keep this site's bills paid, but, is that version made of gold? Look at the price on the one you linked to....240 bucks... WOW. I just paid 99 bucks recently at my local pool store.

    robot cleaners

I am currently trying out an aquabot turbo in my freeform shaped pool. I ran it for a hour last night and it did not fair well. Stuck on top of my dual main drains 4 times in an hour. Today I picked up a couple of these hayward clips (Part # SP1048AVH) that go onto the maindrain covers that...

JJ Thanks so much for posting the great pics and the short movie! I will be picking one up next time I stop into the pool store. Still haven't made it there yet. Looks like it does a really nice job. Just wondering if they have put them on sale to possibly bring out a new model that is...

Looks like it works well. Guess I will take a trip to the pool store. Anemone, do you just tie a wieght to it with a string or something to keep it anchored? Any comments on the battery life you have been getting out of it?

When you get it up and running can you post a couple night shots of it in action? I am curious if it works as well as the website says since they have them on sale at the pool store for 99 bucks I was thinking of picking one up.

    Help with Hayward H150 Heater

I have the H250, two seasons old and the first year it was not igniting correctly. The company that installed the pool came and reset something as the board that starts it had some sort of a glitch. Who knows if they were just feeding me a line or what though. Perhaps its the same problem you...

Where to get decent test kits?

Vincent, I think the model kit from Taylor you should be looking for is a K-2006 and not the 2005. I have the 2006-c. There are some older threads from last season that I made a few posts on where they will ship to canada for a fair price. Not as cheap as the TF kit, but, still not bending...

When & how long to auto-vac?

I have the same unit as Waterbear. The Mars HP, its my first season with it and It does work great. I leave mine in all the time as well unless we are having people over or the wife wants to use the diving board. It is setup on a timer to run for 2 hours daily. When it runs for a couple...

    New AutoPilot Low Chlorine

Poolsean, Is that for your companies SWG or personal pool only? I have been running my zodiac unit and adhering to Bens Best Guess Chart. Am I doing something harmful to my equipment/pool? Should I be dropping my FC to 3 even though my CYA numbers indicate I need to run above 3? Thanks!

    Mosquito control

Sorry for the delay Riles, the show posts since last visit has been a little wacky on my account as of late and I missed your message. Yes, it has been on for 2 or so weeks now. There is a noticeable reduction in insect activity since the garlic spray. We will be going ahead with the 2nd and...

    Mosquito control

I just had an arborist come by to check out a few of my trees and administer deep root fertilization as well as spray my locust trees for a bug that was eating the leaves. He suggested a blend of his garlic oil spray on my lawn/trees/shrubs to reduce mosquito's. He said it lasts 5 weeks. The...

    Hit With Muriatic Acid Fumes

I am like most, I make sure the wind is going the right way for sure, and hold my breath if I sense any smell of it. I pour mine into a measuring cup that I place on a cafeteria tray. This way if there is a small spill it doesn't bubble up my decking, plus I can just shove the whole thing...

    Timers timers timers

I have two timers installed, one for my main pool pump and one for the booster pump. I have a heater hooked into the mix as well. Its a timer with whats called a firemans switch. They must be pretty common, as most of the people I know with pools have them. You can see it here...
