I would think yes, it will interfere. But I don't use one (blanket), I would think the skimmer may try to suck it in and cause problems with low water flow to the pump/filter. If you use the blanket, you may not need to skim much as the blanket will keep leaves and such from getting in the pool...

Mine does the same, even with a brand new filter. I haven't tried to remedy the problem, it doesn't bother me that much. But I like the idea of putting the bag over the return, I'm gonna try that next time I vac.

For big leaves and stuff I use the one that came with my last pool, the one you hook a water hose to and it filters thru a nylon bag. For the dirt I use the one we got with this pool, has small roller wheels and brush bristles on the bottom, hooks to the water intake. They have both at WalMart.

I always have my skimmer hooked up when my pump is running. You prob need to run yours for 5-7hrs daily.

I saw that walmart also has edging like that, but I think you had to buy the stakes seperatly. I don't remember if it was a 30ft or 40ft roll. I plan on using that as well with some mulch.
