Replacing Drain Plug for Homemade Chlorine Injection System

Thanks. Will look for one near by. Was also thinking of a water purification/supply company as well.

Replacing Drain Plug for Homemade Chlorine Injection System

Thanks Mark! Looking to follow in your footsteps on this design, but finding parts in Canada is proving to be an issue. May have no choice but to order from USPlastics and pay the duty....

Replacing Drain Plug for Homemade Chlorine Injection System

After reading the excellent thread started by Mark (@mas985) ("]Homemade Acid OR Chlorine Injection System), I've decided to embark on my own take on this. If its successful, I plan on making a post or updating the original (its been quite since end of last year so may want to consider it...

Thanks for the suggestion. Will take a look tomorrow. I appreciate the help from all!

3-way switch on if both are on or off but otherwise works as expected

To answer the other question I'll have to pull the switches and check for hot and travellers. Without doing that I'd guess that only one has the hot and the other has the load. - - - Updated - - - That's kind of the answer I was hoping for ?

3-way switch on if both are on or off but otherwise works as expected

Wish I was more technical! These are just landscape lights. As far as I can tell it's all correct in that each switch operates independently of the other's position (which is all I've been able to find for common wiring problems). The wiring is about 15 years old and I only noticed this after...

3-way switch on if both are on or off but otherwise works as expected

Basically my 3-way is working like an xnor gate when I'd like it to be a xor gate. If both switches are on or off the light is on. If they are opposite the lights are off. Other than flipping a switch upside down, can this be fixed? It's a minor annoyance for some lighting around my pool deck...

Safety Cover aaaaaaaaaand a winter cover?

Is it normal to open to a green pool? I'm in Ontario and, while only having the pool 4 seasons, it's always been crystal clear when I open. We close around mid October and open mid may. My neighbor one year opened to green water but they waited much longer, first week of June to open. He has...

    TA Drop Normal?

Not to hijack, but where'd you get that spreadsheet? Seems pretty slick! Combine that with the brains behind pool math and I'm sure most would be using it to track, I know I would! Sent from my SM-T330NU using Tapatalk

Minimum FC vs. Zero and General Qs

Pooldv - thanks. What if I know there are no swimmers for a few days or week? Does it still need to be above minimum or just above zero?

Minimum FC vs. Zero and General Qs

Hi all, Since successfully completing my first slam a while back (MANY, MANY thanks Needsajet), i have some questions around minimum FC. Sorry if i choose the wrong forum section... 1. For my CYA (60), FC chart says minimum is 5ppm, target 7ppm. Does this mean that when it drops below 5 i...

Picture isn't a greatest. I really should buy a new phone. Water is crystal clear and doing well! It's been extra hot and sunny here. Going through 4ppm in a 24 hour period. Trying to keep FC around 9-10 to be safe. All summer I was planning onbuilding a rPi based water tester, but am now...

With the anonymity of most web forums, you don't really feel the sense of community. Having been reading many threads on here since 2013 and posting only a few topics, it's amazing how welcomed I've felt and how honestly helpful and concerned the responses have been. I've really felt that...

So, anything to worry about that there's still "something" being attacked by the FC? Today and tomorrow are gonna be beautiful. I actually wasn't able to get to adding chlorine yesterday. Got busy with not being home. It's at 12ppm this morning. I didn't add last night. Will add a little to...

What would be special about 12ppm? Lost another 2-2.5ppm overnight. Water is clear but I can see some dead algae on the floor

Thanks Bruce. I understand. My logic is that it's a long weekend here and while I understand the pool is safe at SLAM, the wife and friends may be worried about it too high. Could be a few toddlers running around. Does that have any soundness to the thinking?

My heart sank! Water is super clear. Tested for fc First result: 16.5 What the? Second result: 18 Darn it! So I lost 2-2.5ppm from 9pmto7:30am. Not sure why the variance in the two tests and maybe it was too dark and I was too sleepy for the test last night Gah! So close! Guess I'll watch it...

    2016 bleach prices

BobbyR - thanks! Just found them yesterday as I needed DE. Just fyi CanadianTire has their 5L 10.5% jugs on sale for 3.99 (reg 4.99). A little more expensive than pioneer but probably closer to a lot more people.

Thanks again for all the guidance and encouragement! This is the reason I refer other pool owners to this site. I'll probably let the FC drop over the weekend. Might have some toddlers coming over so their parents may be nervous about high chlorine levels. I believe my range is 5-9 for my cya...

Pool is coming along! Water is more colourless now and clearer :) Pool math says Fc would have been 26-26.5 based on my test and chloring add last night. This morining Fc was 25.5. (I know, not a true oclt without having tested 30+ mins after last Chem add). Plans would be to do the true oclt...

Morning y'all Just tested, Fc is 26 Cc is 0.5 Not sure that makes sense. Last night Fc was 19.5 so I added 5L of 10% which should have given me 26 (my best guess is pool is between 77kL and 80kL). So I didn't lose anything (ie 0) of FC overnight? I didn't retest after adding, maybe I should...
