oh so it doesn't have to be all the way pushed down? Even at its highest it is not high enough though. even for the dirt level. I ordered a extension piece to raise it up a bit.

I wasn't sure if they are suppose to be not glued in case they break you can't get them off. It did end up fitting just now. I dug all around the opening. It is just below the dirt line. I am looking at extensions to raise it up a bit.

I am not sure but I think someone replaced this lid or the part that it goes into. It does not attach to the part that is in the ground. So when you go to empty the basket the whole thing comes off. Any ideas how to fix it? don't think I want to glue it

When you say large chlorine level drops can happen in 1-2 days, is it normal to lose that much if there pool chemicals are perfect? or does it only drop 1ppm in that case. If i have a 22 FC and the water is fine is it safe to assume that the next day it should be 21? Assuming no chlorine...

you mean get the fc up to 24 then maintain that level? not maintain now at 12.

i just did the instore test to compare mine with theirs. So I thought i had to shock it until it did not drop less than 1ppm over night. i am seeing like 4ppm loss in a night. does that mean i need to reshock again?

update. I put in the 3 bags of dichlor by accident. Stabilizer did not go up really from 60. also added 3 gallons of 8% bleach trying to get to the 25 + shock level. Ran the pump basically on high for most of the time. tested it the next day and it was still low so I went to buy cholorine...

The shock bags ended up being dichlor 55%. Pool calc says add 49oz. so 3.06 bags.

turns out they are not threaded. They just pop off.

Could they be glued? pool is like 10 years old. I tried to turn it with some channel locks and it sort of pulled out of the wall with the pvc still attached. It did not look like it was loosening at all.
