    Boric Acid Prices

I have galvanized metal pool walls, so don't want to increase salt and risk rust. Enjoyed the borate benefits when I added them a few years ago, didn't keep up, and just shocked at the prices.

    Boric Acid Prices

Wanting to get 75 lbs of boric acid. No free shipping at Dudadiesel, where I got it a few years ago. Here is what I have found, calculating the most cost-effective sizes from each site and the lowest cost shipping to my home zip code in Missouri, 64801. I also called the local farm supply...

    Granubor, Solubor,

Coming soon! Have two kids out with wisdom teeth so playing nurse this week. Have a great summer, Kim! You’re the best! And I am going for it with the borates as soon as I get my PH back up after adding acid last night to lower TA. Thanks again, Joyfulnoise and James!

    Granubor, Solubor,

Thanks! I found Jason Lion’s post I was remembering about it not being in PoolMath. It was the difference in Granubor and Solubor formulas I wasn’t understanding. I appreciate the help!

    Granubor, Solubor,

Thanks. In the posts I referenced, it seemed it should only take about half as much of this as the borax. That is not what I see when I plug it into the calculator as James suggested. Ideas?

    Granubor, Solubor,

Kim, pool is great! Opened clear again this year, have a huge new deck (aircraft carrier sized to match pool), and had our first party Saturday to celebrate child #2’s college graduation. Next group is little ones coming over this Sunday! Weather and water are beautiful here. James, thank you...

    Granubor, Solubor,

I read through all 29 pages of the “So you want to add Borates” thread in one sitting today. I read with interest the two posts from Big Island Pool Service about Solubor vs Granubor on pp16ish. I also read the links to Richard’s posts on Borax sources and the first inquiry about about Solubor...

so confused about blowing lines for agp

We successfully built a huge, unconventional AGP this summer, but all through the process, the plumbing is the thing that causes my eyes to glaze over and makes me feel like a complete dummy. I have read for hours on here about how to winterize, and I am mid-process in putting grommets into a...

5 boys and a grain bin...new AGP build DIY

Water question-- Had to be out of town away from the pool for a week. It had been pristine, temps dropped dramatically and got cloudier, so when the weather got warmer than I expected while we were away, my vacation calculations didn't hold up, chlorine fell below target, and found large...

Kellyfair...that audience came to watch the baptism of my 15yo "tornado daughter" (who duct-taped all the bolts in the pool this summer). She had planned to be...

5 boys and a grain bin...new AGP build DIY

I'm too beat to get a set of current test results for tonight... My first question is how much I should be concerned with lowering TA in such a short remaining season. I know it is high...tested around 200 the 2 times I checked it. The pH is slightly high...tested around 7.8 both times. I...

This post has pictures of the current set-up without a deck: This photo shows the approach to the pool from the back of the house. Still using tarp and astro tuft to decrease the mud tracking. Added lines of chairs to collect guest towels and phones. This is closer up of the pallet "deck"...
