What could make my salt reading read way off?? Thought my cell was dead

Well things have kind of gone from bad to worse, I dont know what I hoped to accomplish by taking the cell apart, now I have to try and realign the plates. I'm trying to take apart the control box now as well, I can hear something bouncing around inside. Only problem is that they used screws...

What could make my salt reading read way off?? Thought my cell was dead

I dont think its the water temp as it wasnt working earlier in the season when the water was 90* F, It produces chlorine until the system flashes that its low on salt and cuts the cell off. In my bucket test it sat there and ran fine with extra salt added in. I got my Taylor drop salt test and...

What could make my salt reading read way off?? Thought my cell was dead

See if this works, this is the manual: Polaris Autoclear Owners Manual.pdf - Google Drive I believe the optimum range is around 3250-3500ppm Yes i've been using it the past 4 seasons. It came with my house so I'm not sure how old exactly it is. Probably needs to be replaced soon, but appears...

What could make my salt reading read way off?? Thought my cell was dead

It really doesnt have any options for that. It's pretty basic, turn on/off, how many hours to run. Unless theirs something internally but I have never opened it up. I just hooked it up to the pool again. Pretty much immediately after it flips on it flashes the CHECK SALT light. The little test...

What could make my salt reading read way off?? Thought my cell was dead

Didn't want to bump a thread from almost 2 months ago: Cannot get my SWG to work properly (and selling my house!)!) I've been having trouble with my SWG. Thought it was dead.. Here are my notes, In the previous thread I was told my method of testing or something is up. That's probably true but...

    Code 91 after 4 hours

91 is for low salt.... Not to go off topic but I'm also having trouble with my Polaris Autoclear.... Maybe yours is smarter than mine because mine does not display the salt PPM that i'm aware of.

Best bang for your buck system? (replacing old system)

Thanks, I'll look into those more. Im selling the house so I really dont want to spend a ton, but don't want to get the cheapest system either. I'll see if I can find some more specs on my current SWG, I feel like it did pretty good for not being very fancy.

I guess my title kind of sucks too. Looking for recommendations on systems to buy if anyone could point me in the right direction.

Best bang for your buck system? (replacing old system)

Thanks for the tips. I'll be sure to check on the warranty. I have electrician friends, but have done some simple stuff myself in the past. With a pre-existing system in place I would think it wouldn't be too difficult to install a new one.

Best bang for your buck system? (replacing old system)

Hello, I posted a month or so ago about while trying to troubleshoot my SWG. ( Cannot get my SWG to work properly (and selling my house!)!) ) I've been pouring chlorine in manually but want to get this going before I close the pool (selling my house). I got some new "AquaChek 561140A Salt...

Cannot get my SWG to work properly (and selling my house!)

Thanks for the info. I probably typed the original post too fast, it was about 1800ppm before I added any salt. I'll probably take a sample the pool store and see if they can test the salt to get a 2nd opinion in case my test strips are bad, I'm not sure how the salt level keeps going up unless...

Cannot get my SWG to work properly (and selling my house!)

Hello All, I bought my house as a foreclosure at the end of 2012 and still using the same equipment that was here. I do not know the age, I think the pool and everything was built in 2006, Not sure if the SWG is that old or not. I've used it since opening the pool in 2013 without many issues...

Trying to replace the laterals (fingers) in my filter

Can anyone help me identify my filter? I think all the numbers are faded off, but trying to figure out how much sand to put in it. I guess i'll match it up with what I took out, and add a little extra

Trying to replace the laterals (fingers) in my filter

So good news... I had someone stronger than me twist off those fingers off. Took everything to the pool store (got a new gasket and some other pieces for the valve area). They were out of the whole assembly, but they did have new laterals so I bought those. None really looked cracked, but there...

Trying to replace the laterals (fingers) in my filter

Hi all, Probably going to put my house up for sale, but been meaning to fix these broken laterals for like 3 seasons. Sand leaks into the pool (quite a bit) and I have to vacuum it all up all the time. I haven't opened the pool up yet, so I figured it would be best to vacuum out the sand now...

Pool still not crystal clear, Could use advice.

Hmm I guess I could do the SLAM again. Maybe I didnt get my FC high enough. The CYA was around 20-30 last week so I only took FC to about 10-12. The CC was reading 0 every time after that so I thought I was good. I didn't really get a reading overnight because the SWG was running

Pool still not crystal clear, Could use advice.

Just tested with TF-100: FC- 7 (little high) CC- 0 pH- 7.5 TA- 50 CYA- 60 I didn't check CH this time, but its always about 60. I slammed last week and have been trying to get everything to their proper levels. I was planning on raising my pH and TA a little bit. The TA is recommended to be...

Opened the pool a few days ago, What levels should I do for SLAMing?

Actually, I just retested FC/CC with a fresh sample and better lighting... It appears that FC - 0 CC - 0 I believe the testing chemicals i'm using are from last season (stored inside). So I'm not sure. I'll try to level a few things and retest in a little bit.

Opened the pool a few days ago, What levels should I do for SLAMing?

Hello All, Pool was a swamp. Vacuumed as much junk off the bottom as I could and scrubbed. Next morning it was already blue instead of green. I had put about 5.5 or so gallons of chlorine in. This was Monday evening. Pool currently looks blue but cloudy. I'm wondering what I should get my...

Thanks for all the info. I went right out the night I posted this and started the SLAM process. Hi Kim, I did have enough chlorine on hand (big jug from the pool store) start the SLAM process. By steps I assume you mean the ladder on the side of my pool? I did not take it out last time, I will...
