    HELP, hose broke off pump

Thank god, the pump works but the hose is leaking (well...I don't know if it's the hose but it's leaking where it connects to the pump from the filter.) I checked the end of the hose but I couldn't see any cracks or holes. If it's the hose, I'll get a new hose but if it's the thing that connects...

I know, right. Just hoping it didn't mess up the pump

    HELP, hose broke off pump

I also found a dead bat in the skimmer. Could that have plugged it up and caused the hose to come off due to the strain?

    HELP, hose broke off pump

HELP!!! The hose from the filter to the pump broke off last night. I woke up this morning to a mess. Apparently, sometime overnight the hose which runs from my filter to the top of the pump broke off and drained water out of the pool to below the skimmer line. I run my pump at night and when I...

The kids playing in it good enough for aeration? They've been in it almost everyday now. With the jumping around and playing, that should do it, right? I'll bring it down to 7.2 and go from there. Thank you so much.

These are the results this morning. Last nights reading was 5 for FC and .5 for CC. This morning FC was 4 and CC is .5  Now I'm going to bring it up to high end of my normal level and maintain it there. What say you to this plan? Now, my TA at last check was high at 160. I've been told...

Thank you for the reply. I already added chlorine this morning after I took the test to bring it up to shock again. I won't put anything in it anymore and do what you say and do that test tonight and tomorrow and see what it says. Meanwhile, can I turn off the pump for the day and turn it on...

Alright, I'm getting confused now. I took four tests for FC this morning. Last night I took test for FC and it was 16.5 and this morning these are the results: FC- 13.5 10ml 22.2 25ml (2 scoops) 12.5 10ml 19.4 25ml 12.5 10ml (2 scoops) Why the difference? I checked and...

The FAS-DPD test is +- 0.5 on each test. So a difference of 1 ppm is within the error range of the test and can be ignored. It isn't that difficult for there to be 1 ppm of chlorine lost to pollen or leaves falling in the pool. Both of those together could account for a difference of 2 ppm...

[/URL] This is my pool now. Thank you to all of you. :goodjob: Readings as of this morning: FC- 5 CC- .5 pH- 7.6 CYA- 40 One little question tho, I bumped up my level to 7 last night and it was 5 this morning. I've only been losing chlorine 1-2 ppm during the day. How come I lost 2...

It's been a week now since the shock process. So far so good, everything seems to be in line. Thank you for everything and everyone that has led me throughout the whole process. BBB rocks :goodjob:! It sort of becomes second nature when testing the pool. So much so that I tend to get OCD about...

    Question about OCLT

It wasa couple days ago I passed OCLT. I checked this morning and CC was 1.0. Does that mean there's still bad stuff in the pool?

    Question about OCLT

Does CC have to be at .5 from here on in after passing OCLT? If it goes up to 1.0, do I go back to shocking?

Alright, did test this morning and showed CC of 1.0 with 0 loss on FC. Should I go back to shocking to get CC down to .5 or less? Passed OCLT yesterday after double checking past 2 nights. Does CC have to be .5 or less from here on in after OCLT?

Thank you. Also when I add chlorine, should I dose on the high end of my normal target level to last till the next dosage (if needed).I plan to do this in the evenings. I'm trying to plan out a good working schedule.

Just took readings and these are my results: FC- 12 CC - .5 pH- 7.8 CYA- 40 TA- 160 CH- 80 The TA looks high. Pool School says not to lower TA just to reach a target number. You have to have certain criteria (calcium scaling, ph rising). How fast should ph rise for it to be a TA problem...

Success  Finally passed OCLT. Water is crystal clear. Lost only .5 ppm overnight with CC of .5. This website has been a great teacher. You all rock  I'll try to post pics soon. At this point, do you just wait for FC to go down to target level and check for pH and adjust if...

    Question about OCLT

Testing with TF-100. CYA at 35 and pH at 7.5 taken before shock process. Haven't done any other tests till I'm done with shocking. @ Bama Rambler, that's what I think. I was just making sure...

    Question about OCLT

I think I was second guessing myself :? and I tested the same time every morning before the sun came up. Last night's FC was 15 and was down to 13 this morning. The night before was 14 and went down to 13 and CC for both was .5

    Question about OCLT

Do the OCLT numbers have to coincide with each other that same night? Reason I'm asking is that I've been testing for OCLT the past two nights and both nights I have had CC of .5 or less and FC was a loss of 1 the first night and 2 the second night (or morning rather). Does that mean I passed...

Hello, I'm back. Still in shock process but water is very clear. Tests this morning: FC 9.0 and CC was 1. FC usually stays at shock level till the evening. CC has consistently been at 1 for the past 4 days. Still haven't passed the 3 criteria and still truckin' along with the process. At this...

Can I check for cya now? I thought you need to wait a week after you put it in....I put stabilizer in last Sunday. And if the kids swim, will that hinder the shock process? Pool is still a little cloudy. Last reading at 6 pm was FC 12.5 and CC was 1.

I just checked water after an hour and FC was 17. I guess that isn't so bad. I just got scared as that was a really big difference in measurement. Have come to far to screw this up. Kids are raring to jump in the pool

Well so much for that. I just made a bad rookie mistake. I added to much bleach to water ( 3 qts instead of 3 cups). Will it damage my pool now? What can or should I do?
