Plug in filter/pump with hard wired swg...how to make that work?

If I go with say, a Hayward XStream filter/pump combo that just plugs in, but I want an Aquarite SWG, which is hard wired, how will that work exactly? I plan on having an electrician do wiring from the house to the pool but I am curious about it. The pump and SWG would need to be working...

Does IG v/s AG filter matter for an AG pool?

Am I right to assume that I can use an in-ground cartridge filter system on an above-groud pool? While just browsing through them, I have noticed that the above ground systems just seem small. I can get a much bigger one that's listed as in-ground. We are looking at pools in the 27ft by...

    Pool alarms...any opinions/advice?

Thanks everyone. I too, from what I have read about them don't think they are going to be reliable really. I planned to install some sort of alarm on the fence gate. Figured we could find one of those that would work well. Plus there will be a padlock on the gate too. May seem like...

    Pool alarms...any opinions/advice?

The state of Tennessee requires you to have a pool alarm. Though I know plenty that don't. Not the point...anyways, I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with any that they could recommend for a new above ground pool build. From what I have read, you can't pass the electrical...

Above Ground Pool Fencing that attaches to pool....

Has anyone had any experience with the above ground pool fencing that attaches to the pool uprights? I am planning on building a fence around the pool anyways but was wondering about the other though. Opinions, experience anyone? Just trying to plan ahead some for when we get a more permanent...

    Right sizing SWG

Sorry about that. My typing got ahead of my brain. The T-Cell 15 (40,000 gal) is 1.40lbs. The T-Cell 9 (25,000 gal) is .70lbs. And the T-Cell 3 (15,000 gal) is .60lbs. But like I said, that is just a saltwater system seller site giving the lbs numbers. So you can take that with a grain of...

    Right sizing SWG

From what I could find, the Hayward t15 is .60lbs per day. The other two models are the 25 at .70lbs per day and the 40 at 1.40lbs per day. I found that on a site that sells saltwater systems. So not sure how reliable that is but maybe it's in the ballpark for figures.

SWG for above ground vs. inground

So the Aquarite is in-ground. But would still be fine with an above ground I take it? So can that be wired to somehow run with the pump during normal pump run time but is there a way to have it where you can run the pump without the swag too?

SWG for above ground vs. inground

I am curious about this also. Hopefully someone can shed some light on the matter. I have been looking at the Aquatrol also, but estimating that our new pool will hold a bit over 18,000 I suppose I should go Aquarite for 25,000. But it's an in-ground system. So I have been wondering the same...

Easiest way to figure gallons of water in the pool?

I understand that you need to have a close estimate of how many gallons of water your pool contains for proper adding of your chemicals. But what is the best way to figure out about how many gallons your pool holds?

    Above ground pool install

Sorry about those parts. I keep reading about that happening to people but we still want a Matrix and will order it plenty early before season so we can try to get replacement parts too if needed! Hope you get that settled soon so you can begin enjoying your new pool!

Pump/filter for new pool...a little help please?!

:???::???:I have found a 72 square ft DE filter but I can't afford $1000 for the filter alone! Most sites only give me an effective filtration area (in square feet) and a flow rate (gpm). So I am wondering if say, for example, says an EFA of 15 square ft, and flow rate of 60 gpm is big enough...

Pump/filter for new pool...a little help please?!

We plan to purchase a new above ground pool in the future. (Just have to make do with the Intex for now.) But I have read and re-read and etc., etc...Hydraulics 101 til I believe I will go cross-eyed. My question is this...if we are looking at getting a 24x54 pool, estimated to hold around...

    Better Saltwater option..Venture or Matrix?

My reply email said Matrix, Navigator and Oceanic were the best options.

    Better Saltwater option..Venture or Matrix?

I thought I read the right warranty. There are like 6 listed on the Sharkline website. So, I have emailed Wilbar to ask exactly which of the Sharkline pools, if any, are saltwater compatible. Hopefully will have an answer in a day or two. I will post what I find out. :)

    Better Saltwater option..Venture or Matrix?

After reading the warranty on the Matrix, a saltwater system voids the warranty. So I guess we are back to searching for something we can do with a SWCG. Or just go BBB and buy the pool we really like. Just more to consider. Thanks for the responses. :)

    Matrix vs Venture...which for saltwater?

I posted this question in another part of the forum but got no replies so I am trying here. And if this needs to be asked somewhere else please let me know! I am looking at two pools. Both by Sharkline. The Matrix and the Venture. The Matrix is great for saltwater, as it is resin parts. But the...

    Better Saltwater option..Venture or Matrix?

We are looking at replacing our Intex with either a Sharkline Matrix or Venture. I know the Matrix has more resin parts than the Venture. And Matrix is good for a saltwater system. But would the Venture be fine too? It has some resin parts, but uprights are not. I don't want to buy a pool only...

    Right size pump/filter for pool?

Just a little question here. If we purchase a 28x54 above ground pool, which holds an estimated 19,500 gallons, would a Hayward Xstream Full-Flo 150 square foot, 1 1/2 horsepower filtration system be enough? We are in the process of trying to pick out a whole new pool, filter system, everything...

    DE, sand or cartridge?

I have been studying Hydraulics 101. I noticed that a catridge filter is good for a SWCG. But sand filter is good for winterazation. But a DE is good for really clear water. So, I was interested in a DE filter but I would like to go saltwater. It will also have to be put away for winter. Am I...

Installing an above ground pool on a concrete pad

Nice pool! LOVE the concrete pad/deck too! A few questions for you..what size and kind of pump are you using? And are you saltwater, BBB, etc? I am really curious because I am reading up on that line of pools since we want to DIY and you made that sound fairly easy as far as set up. :) Btw..what...

    What's a good choice for a SWG?

We are in the planning stages for a new above ground pool. I want to go saltwater. There are plenty of options on generators. So I wanted some personal opinions from everyone for comparison. We will probably be getting a 27x52 pool if that helps. Thanks!

Level concrete slab to put pool on?

We have no plans for diving. :) The 52 depth wouldn't allow for that anyway. It is basically enough to float around or swim some in. Mainly to just keep cool in the crazy humid Tennessee summers. And if we retired the pool someday, the concrete slab would already be there for a shop floor. :)...

Level concrete slab to put pool on?

Our pool plans last year went bust. So no pool for us. We still have our pool, but I was curious about something. Our ground is level, but could we have a concrete slab poured and leveled and put the pool on that? I could have a pathway extended right up to the back deck stairs at the same...

intex ultra frame & SWCG? maybe not good idea?

I was thinking of upgrading to the 2650 sand next year but if it can't be used with a swcg, I may have to look into something else.

intex ultra frame & SWCG? maybe not good idea?

Just a question of interest since I've thought about going SWCG next summer since our yard is sun covered nearly all day and our working hours horrible so trying to keep chlorine levels decent could be a nightmare. While searching nonlinear for a good, affordable SWCG pump, I came across a...
