Leak around concrete equipment slab when running polaris :(

Yes, it's ridiculous. Not sure why whoever installed the pool would do it this way. That being said, any suggestions on how to best figure out/find the leak, and fix it.

Leak around concrete equipment slab when running polaris :(

As promised, a couple pictures. The concrete pad is dry. When I run the main pump, I don't notice any water around the concreete pad. When I turn the polaris pump on, I get water coming out from the earth around the concrete pad.

Leak around concrete equipment slab when running polaris :(

The equipment isn't leaking. Thinking it might be the plumbing that goes from above the equipment pad, through the concrete slab, and ultimately to the pool. I'm not familiar w/ the plumbing - bought the house w/ the pool. Typically, would the the polaris water line have dedicated plumbing? I'm...

Leak around concrete equipment slab when running polaris :(

Good morning! Opened the pool up a week ago - it's unseasonably cold up here at the moment, so have not been running equipment more than a few hours a day. Last night, I decide to hook up the Polaris 280 (has a dedicated line and is powered by a Polaris pump) as the pool as getting a bit dirty...

    Pump to small for filter?

Hey, I replaced my pump (this spring) and filter (last year) and think I may have screwed up. I'm traveling more than normal this year, so have hired someone to take care of my pool (horrible I know). This the first year w/ my 3/4 HP Whisperflo pump (which the local pool shop indicated would...

Laser 250 Sand Filter - Pin Size Leak

I don't mind the sand filter... yet, sounds like I may need a new pump to backwash if I get the 30"... which won't be a problem w/ a big cartridge filter? If the current pump works with the 30", I get sand no problem.

Laser 250 Sand Filter - Pin Size Leak

Maybe I stick w/ the cartridge filter, which I can also get today/tomorrow... As someone earlier mentioned! Works fine w/ pump as well... Are these hard to install? I'd like to do it myself. Think I could do the sand, as I've seen how it looks finished...a bit nervous about cartridge...

Laser 250 Sand Filter - Pin Size Leak

Ok, thanks. Much appreciated. Worst case, I go w/ the 25" Hayward. No it's not as big as TFP would like, but is what a number of local pool stores have recommended (and I get it get it tomorrow, instead of 7-10 days).

Laser 250 Sand Filter - Pin Size Leak

You think 30" Hayward is too big for the pump? The 1000 comes from the sticker on the side...Magnum 1000 Thanks for your help

Laser 250 Sand Filter - Pin Size Leak

If I stubbornly go for the sand filter, and keep the smaller pump for now, will I run into any issues? I intend on replacing the pump, but was hoping to do so early nxt year. I like the idea of the cartridge filter, but have read some really negative reviews on having to replace cartridges more...

All we have is the attached sticker on the unit - which is pretty faded.

Laser 250 Sand Filter - Pin Size Leak

Thanks! No one in my area has anything larger than the 24" in stock... so I either get that, or wait 10 days for something bigger, or buy a cartridge filter... How you like the Hayward Pump? Not sure what you had before, but did you notice an improvement in your hydro bill? Pool cleanliness?

Laser 250 Sand Filter - Pin Size Leak

My fault. HP is 1.0, SF is 1.25... so I think that makes it a 3/4 HP. Is that enough to run the 27" or 30" Hayward Sandfilter?

Laser 250 Sand Filter - Pin Size Leak

Hey, it is the one in my signature... but my understanding is that there is no such thing as a 1 HP filter... and that it is likely a 3/4 HP pump ( http://www.pool1.com/Motors_Uprated_Explained.asp)

Laser 250 Sand Filter - Pin Size Leak

I have a 3/4 hp pump currently... do I need to get a new pump if I go w/ the bigger filter? Leaning towards either sand or cartridge. Torn between the two.

Laser 250 Sand Filter - Pin Size Leak

Was talking to the guys at Hayward and they say all I need is a sand 24" filter or 3.2 sqft ... up to a 130,000 litres (34k gallons) What am I missing? I'm in Canada so pool only open a few months of the year...

What size filter should I be looking at? And Sand, DE or Cartridge?

Laser 250 Sand Filter - Pin Size Leak

I will try - how difficult a job is it to take the filter apart to get to the inside? I did a quick Google search for a manual but no luck. Pressure is typically around 15-17..

Laser 250 Sand Filter - Pin Size Leak

Hey. Got home to find water spraying out of my Laser 250 filter... There appears to be a few pin size holes near the label on the body of filter... I don't know how old the equipment is (got it with the house) but worked fine for last few months I was using... It was hot here in Toronto today...

    CYA Reading: DOT doesn't disappear

Thanks. Have been going through it. Stabilizer needs to be bought from pool store? I.e. there is nothing similar at Walmart type places?

    CYA Reading: DOT doesn't disappear

I have not added anything. It is a new fill. Assuming this explains the low FC level as well to certain extent? What's the best product to add? Thx for quick replies!

    CYA Reading: DOT doesn't disappear

Hey, recently purchased the Taylor K-2006 Complete (FAS-DPD Chlorine Test Kit). Have tested my pool twice and I'm struggling w/ the CYA test. Specifically, the black dot never disappears. As instructed, I fill the CYA dispensing bottle to the 7 mL mark w/ pool water and than add R-0013 to the...

    My Pool is Leaking

I don't know how they pressurized it, but he should me a meter showing pressure holding at 10 psi.

    My Pool is Leaking

That's the problem. My pool company did run a pressure test and the pressure held at 10 psi. I have 3 returns + one dedicated for Polaris + one for auto fill. He tested them all, and redid the plumbing so that the water slide is no longer connected (as he couldn't pressure test that line)....

    My Pool is Leaking

The main drain (which has since been filled) is covered by the liner. I don't see any wet spots between pool and equipment pad. It could be under the concrete surrounding the pool possibly. I'm going to do a bucket test w/ the equipment off to confirm that I'm only leaking when equipment is off...

    My Pool is Leaking

Hey, there was a main drain in the deep end, but it was filled in w/ concrete when the liner was changed.
