    test kit question...

I'm going to agree with our fellow Mods. I was in your same situation at one time. I had just joined this site and had no formal test kit except for test strips or getting it tested at the pool store. I was also in financial trouble at the time, but I dished out some dough and bought the TF100...

I'll try! I'm telling you from a 24 to a 30 may not seem like a lot but man it's huge!

Yes I can run it on low which is what I am currently doing 24/7. It seems to work perfectly on low water flow is really strong. I guess when I turn it on high it's too much for the damaged motor.

The same one in my sig. It's filled up to the max now. It's a lot deeper than our old one. From 52 to 54 may not seem like a lot but it sure is. Also the skimmer is mounted high so it adds to it being deep.

Guess what! When the tree fell on our old pool it also landed on our brand new pump I had just bought to replace the old one that was on the old pool. The pump didn't look damaged so we hooked it up to our new pool as you can see in the picture. I turned it on low and it works perfectly. I then...

Most reliable non-intrusive light for my 30' pool

Plugged up my Night-lighter 100w from my old pool earlier and it barely lit up our new pool. It also stopped working directly thereafter. I would love to have any suggestions on a new light. I do not want to interfere with my return or have to install it in the wall. I have been eying these...

Here's what went on behind my 8 year old liner...

Jason how do galvanized steel pool walls rust? I've been wondering this for awhile. Not hijacking this thread or anything, it relates to the topic.

Here's what went on behind my 8 year old liner...

I too wonder how galvanized steel rusts. It has a coating over the entire wall that prevents rusting yet it still rusts. Can anyone elaborate? Also, the liner being brittle is perfectly normal for a liner of that age.

It's about halfway. I'll post a walkaround video of the entire pool when it's filled. I had even more trees, but we had alot cut down prior to this install. It gets ALOT of sun!

This thing is a MONSTER. Casey, we did decide to cut the panel to fit the wide-mouth skimmer. It fit PERFECTLY. Can't believe we actually cut a standard skimmer wall into a wide-mouthed one! Leveling: Pool by returntohangar57, on Flickr Wall Construction: Pool by returntohangar57, on Flickr...

Cutting pool wall for wide-mouth skimmer

If I'm not mistaken, don't both the wide mouth and the standard skim exactly the same? The actual box opening is the same except for the wife mouth extender. I'm assuming it aids in pulling debris in but offers not much more skimming action correct? I'm new to this.

Cutting pool wall for wide-mouth skimmer

As always you help me! Thanks Casey. It does NOT come with a pre-cut cut-out. It's a stainless steel panel with a standard cut-out.

Cutting pool wall for wide-mouth skimmer

Our pool will come with a standard skimmer opening in the wall, is it possible to cut the steel so it will fit my wide mouth skimmer? Is it worth doing? It is located on a stainless steel panel.

New member, wondering about AGP warranties

If you don't mind, could you post more pictures? Specifically, the inside of the wall where it split? Corrosion could very well have been your problem.

The pool install has been delayed by the installers until further notice :( We purchased the pool over a month ago and we have had over 6 delays on scheduled installations. Reason for delays include weather. It's been raining like every 2-3 days. Is rain a huge problem with it comes to...

Drip. Drip. Drip. - Help? Encouragement? Advice? Insults?

True that. I actually glued some threaded joints shut and it was a complete pain to remove. If it's a permanent installation I see no point in not using PVC glue. You have to use some sort of union.

That tree is huge. I wish you could cut it down. Also have you considered hard PVC piping? Also try using PVC glue that seals too.

We previously owned a 24' by 52" AGP and a tree fell on it and compromised the integrity of the wall. We chose to demolish it and upgrade to a larger pool instead which will be a 30' by 54" AGP. It's roughly 9000 more gallons so we are pretty excited. I'll be posting pictures of the install...

24" AGP - lost all water - damaged liner

There is no possible way to salvage that liner. The tear is simply too big. The weight of the water would completely destroy the patch and it would be a safety hazard as that is a lot of water weight and it could easily rupture the integrity of the wall. You will have to replace it. Even if you...
