Mine got same symptom. It got louder for awhile now stop working. Opened it to check if it was capacitor or bearing. Now when I turn it on, it hums but the impeller wouldn't turn. How does the bearing look like and where to order it?

Darn, I am always rinse with the cap closed. In fact, it sounds louder than I got it last year. If I recall, the Index manual didn't say anything about this So, can I just install the hose on backwashing port and leave it there for good?

I meant the outlet where I remove the cap, connect the hose for backwashing. When I have done, I remove the hose, close the cap for rinse. Do you do the rinse while the hose connected?

Just came back from vacation and saw SWG said low salt. Measured and the salt level is 3000 ppm. Table says add 10 lb of salt to get to 3300 ppm, but I added only 4 lbs (that's all left, getting more tomorrow). Based on table, 4 lbs makes level up to 3100 ppm. Even that the SWG still saying...

Question for experts: The kit above required to 5 drops to do the chlorine test. And the ppm is from 0.5 - 5. Can I use only 1 drop and multiply for 5 to get the FC? The reason I do that is I want to maintain the FC at 25 - 26 ppm for shocking. Doesn't have to be exact. I just tried at 1...
