    Polaris 180??

Thanks...wont the threads prevent a good seal??? Will the plug leak around the threads?

    Polaris 180??

Im doing my own close this year. Keeping water level above returns and using plugs...no issues there. Im not sure what to do about the Polaris return? It's a threaded adapter. So when I blow and use plug, it most likely won't hold due to the threads. Or will it? Coming away from my "pool...

    Confused about the Liquidator

I fought with the liquidator for weeks and finally went with the Stenner. I was tired of air leaks, white ****, floats sticking, adjusting flow meter balls, needle valves, etc Stenner hard to set up? Not really. I had to drill two holes for the Liquidator...and only used one of those with the...

Pretty good deal on the Stenner 45MPHP10

Well...that figures! I just bought mine at Lockwell for $202. Not sure what shipping was as I added the tank...I think it was about $30 for both the tank and the pump.

    Stenner, what do I need...

What is the difference between the 45 and 85 series pumps?

    Stenner, what do I need...

It would be nice if I could program it into the Aqualink RS using an empty Aux relay. I could then program it independantly from the control panel in house.

    Stenner, what do I need...

I thought about adding it to my Aqualink RS system...but I think that would complicate the project??? I do have available aux relays accoring to the touch panle. How hard do you think that would be? If not directly wired, I have a covered GFCI right next to control box. What are pro's/con's...

    Stenner, what do I need...

So, I really don't think the Liquidator will keep up with my chlorine demand even if I get the kinks worked out... So next option is Stenner. I use 3-4 ppm of Chlorine per day in full sun. I run my pump for 12 hours per day (6am-12pm, 2pm-8pm). Where do I buy the Stenner systems? And what...

Liquidator may not work for me...

Thanks to both of you for hanging with me...much appreictaed... I was thinking the same thing and thought I'd try to the heater drain plug? If I did move the saddle...how would I seal the old saddle hole? I was thinking of getting some rubber gasket material and applying strip over hole...

Liquidator may not work for me...

Outlet to heater splits to "pool return" and "spa jets". Pool return splits again (selectable): Currently both open, side pool jets and several bottom pool returns. One for spa jets: Splits to 6 spa jets...spa over flows into pool. Maybe this helps: Isolation valve for spa retrun jets is an...

Liquidator may not work for me...

Inlet to LQ: Using the saddle valve, it is after the heater outlet just before the return splits going back to "pool return" and "spa jets". Oultet of EQ: Using the saddle valve, it is inches before the coupling to the pool pump...right before stainer basket. I am not home to get the...

Liquidator may not work for me...

More bad news... With pump running, I removed the check vlave on the LQ inlet. Water stream was what I though to be very strong. Connected directly to LQ inlet and still could not keep up...flow went up to 5...but eventually dropped to 3.5. I even removed inlet float and just let water come...

Liquidator may not work for me...

I went ahead and ordered the check valves...we'll see if that helps. If they don't, I guess I just bought a $200 Chlorine tank for my Stenner pump?

Liquidator may not work for me...

Filter pressure is 18 clean currently 19 or so. My pump and equipment are about 3-4 feet above pool level and about 8-10 feet away.

Liquidator may not work for me...

Brand new Clorox...from Walmart. 8.25% I have considered going to 12.5% liquid chlorine. Leslies sells it at 6$ a gallon...so I'd rather not pay that if I don't have too. I cant find it anywhere else locally.

Liquidator may not work for me...

...considered that but will lose pump prime when I turn off pump. Will suck air back through LQ and water will drain from my equipment back to pool

Liquidator may not work for me...

CYA was 60...now 50 due to rain. I have scratched my head on usage myself. I continue to pass the OCLT several times, water is very clear. I have debated shocking just becasue CL usage just don't seem right. Filter pressure is 18 clean currently 19 or so. My pump and equipment are about 3-4...

Liquidator may not work for me...

No...when I lift it up. The outlet floats works on an increasing level. Let me put it into the steps I see... 1) I turn off adjustment vlave and allow LQ to fill until LQ inlet closes 2) I open adjusntement valve and set flow leter to 4. 3) Flow decreases in LQ and inlet floast open flow...but...

Liquidator may not work for me...

I found those check valves in another thread...and may order them. My concern is the overall ability to keep up...is 4ppm on 17k realistic? At 3 to 3.5 on flow-meter yesterday, I still lost 3pmm...like the LQ wasnt even there. It may have curbed 1PPM...but I cant see getting to 4ppm based on...

Liquidator may not work for me...

Well...I may end up removing the liquidator. No matter what I try, I cant get the inlet to keep up with the outlet...so my flow maxes at about 3.5...which does not keep up with my chlrine demand (4ppm in full sun). Inlet check valve is the issue. It's working, but just not allowing enough flow...

    Liquidator CL level??

When my pumps turns off, the remaining suction draws the liquidator level down and into the pump suction piping until the liquidator outlet float stops this process. Should I be concerned that a "high chlorine level" water slug is sitting in my pump suction (and pump) overnight? I don't see...

    Another liquidator question/observation...

Thanks for the replies... I think I will go with flow meter, adjustment valve, check valve, suction. I am above pool water line but like the idea of the check valve just in case. I think I will also shorten the line between items as well...

    Another liquidator question/observation...

I have installed my liquidator this past weekend. I did quite a bit of research here and searched the many threads loaded with advice. I figured I would not add chlorine until I was comfortable with the set up and made sure all the bugs were out. I had intended on a pump drain, heater drain...

    Question about TA

OK...since switching to liquid chlorihe and getting rid of pucks, my PH tends to drift up and I add acid 2-4 times a week to lower PH (7.8 to 7.4). I have been letting TA come down to rec levels for using chlorine (70-90+) and it is about 80 or so (down from 110). My issue is the two below...

    FC daily usage

OK, post heat wave, pool still running up to 83 degrees from sun...still losing 4 ppm. Adding 80oz of 12.5% per day. Chlorine going from 5 to 9 each day. I did an overnight and lost .4ppm and water is very clear. I can see screw heads in my main drain clear as a bell. Debris is minimal as the...

    FC daily usage

Not much over these really hots days. The 280 was clear...just a few pine frawns. Normally, I do get more depending on the wind level. I try to keep the skimmers and 280 cleaned at least twice a day on those windy days because I know things start to break down quick. I even backwashed yesterday...

    FC daily usage

Here in PA, we had a "Heat wave" of 90+ days for 3-4 straight. My nomal FC usage until then was 1.6-2.0ppm... During the heatwave, it jumped to 3-4ppm...3.8ppm the one day. I'd add to get it up to 8.8 or so...and by next day, sun down I'd be at 5 again. Pool temp was 84, bright sun...no...

    Liquidator question - Heater drain

I have seen some people who hook the liquidator into the pump drain and heater drain. I will use pump drain...no issue there. Any concern with heater drain connection getting too hot and melting? The manifold gets pretty warm to touch. Thanks
