    I invested in pond underlayment to put under mine. It was like $115 for a 20' X 20' and is 45mil thick.

    Intex sand filter pump

    To be honest, Intex really stands behind their pumps. If you are within the 2 year warranty period and have the receipt for your purchase, call them. I had to because the bearings were going out of mine after 1 1/2 years and they sent me a new pump. Good Luck.
