    Need new pump

Traveled recently and appears the water level went too low and overheated/killed the pump. Or perhaps it was the pool guy's removal of the timer clips causing the pump to run 24/7. At any rate, I'm pretty sure it is dead. Any tips on getting a new one (models, retailers, etc.)? Currently have a...

    Pump impeller broken...replacement?

I noticed yesterday that the pump was no longer pumping water. I opened the basket lid, and found the end-cap to the impeller laying in the pipe. I took the removed the motor from the basket-housing area and removed the top to find the broken impeller. The motor seems to be fine. I assume it...

    What is this?

Any direction on these spots - sort of looks like mold to me. (background: water was in rather good condition, detected a leak, let it drain down and let the chems go, fixed the leak, re-filled, now just getting everything back in order - or trying). I haven't done the overnight cl consumption...

    Bubbles and zero pressure...

hmmm, that's what I thought - wondering if there's more to my 'leak' than the skimmer - it was my best guess anyways. To me, it seems to lose prime every time (takes a minute or two to start pumping and a few large bubbles come out of the eyeball)...I'll watch it more closely now.

    Bubbles and zero pressure...

Just went out - filled the basket as much as possible with the water hose and also applied silicone lube again to the basket lid/gasket...let it run for a while and it's running well now! Now for getting kreepy krawly to crawl level and start adding chems. Hopefully my water leak is fixed :)

    Bubbles and zero pressure...

anytime I take the basket lid off, the water sucks down (the lid says to fill basket prior to running pump). Of course, it wont fill but more than about 3/4 as it runs into the pipe inlet (haven't tried filling with a hose though - but have dumped a good 3gal bucket in there). It seems to me...

    Bubbles and zero pressure...

I have been troubleshooting a leak for the past few weeks. The water level went below the skimmer port and held well. I got around to re-grouting the areas in the skimmer I thought could be leaking - sealed the grout and then re-filled water. Water seems to be holding fine now - time will tell...

    Leak?

Been a bit since I last posted... I had thought the level held but it really didn't. It seems I'm losing 1/8" or so per day - I suppose I can count that as evaporation... Thus the level seems to be holding. It did drop much more rapid when above the skimmer port and I think the leak may be at...

    Leak?

Well, looks like the leaking has stopped - the overall water level is now at the bottom of the top row of tiles (which is just a 1/4 inch or so above the bottom portion of the skimmer opening) and seems to be holding (no loss in 2-3 days). I have had the pump off for over a week now...I'm really...

    Leak?

Is it safe to say that it can literally be leaking anywhere - with most probable being the skimmer area, pipe fittings/drains within the pool and/or plumbing under or above ground...? Is the pump basket supposed to remain full? I noticed that the lid was leaking and lubed the o-ring. That...

    Leak?

So, I'm certain my pool has a leak. This week I have not run the pump at all. It's easily lostan inch since Sunday and now is in the too low zone to run the pump (pretty close to being below the Skimmer). I'm thinking I will just keep letting it leak at least until it gets completely below the...

    Leak?

I've noticed the water level going down rather quickly - to ensure it is not my imagination, I placed a piece of tape at the water level a few days ago and also placed a bucket filled with water to the pool's water line on the first step in the pool...in just a few days, the water dropped...

    Trying to get things situated...

Hello everyone, I'm a really new pool owner, new to the forum as well. I'm going through a second and more thorough reading of the "Pool School" and have ordered a new test kit (TF100) as the test kit I have seems to be lacking quite a bit. Anyways, the pool seems to be in overall good...
