Pool build underway in sunny Kansas City

Forms mostly taken down. Of course it's raining here again so work is delayed. My builder says the concrete will cure for 30 days and then plastering. In the meantime, they are doing plumbing, coping, decking, etc. I'm happy with everything so far except I expected the shallow end to be 3'6...

Okay to pour concrete in rain?

PB says if it rains they won't pour - I misunderstood him. However, that presents new question. If pool is poured and it rains same day of pour, is that bad for the stability of the concrete?

Okay to pour concrete in rain?

Maybe this is a rookie question but my PB wants to pour our pool Monday and it is supposed to rain. Should I have him wait until a clear day?

Question regarding pool skimmers in new build

No cost concern. My wife is leery of a second skimmer because there will be a 2nd plastic cover on the decking.

Question regarding pool skimmers in new build

We are building a 14x30 (15,700 gallons) gas-heated rectangle pool with salt water in Kansas City with 4ft shallow end and 6ft deep end with auto cover. My builder has allotted 4-5 jets, 1 skimmer and 1 bottom drain. However, he's telling me they've started shying away from bottom drains...

Larger walk space or an extra 1ft in pool width?

I have a smaller yard and we are starting our pool dig next week. Right now, the plan is for a 14x30 pool that runs parallel to the house. There is a 6.5 ft wide bottleneck area between the pool and the house for a 10 ft stretch. Of the bottleneck area, 1.5 ft wide is a green space with...

New Pool Build Question regarding excavator yard damage

Thanks for all the input everyone. My contractor thinks he will tear up the ground (including a small portion of my neighbor's yard) and doesn't think plywood is really going to help but I was willing to take a chance and pay the extra cost myself if there was any real chance of saving damage...

New Pool Build Question regarding excavator yard damage

My wife and I are starting a pool build in Kansas City in the next 2-3 weeks (would've started 2 weeks ago if not for the historic snowfall we got). Anyway, my question relates to whether or not we should attempt to put down 3/4" plywood at the point of ingress/egress into our backyard to limit...
