SWG Runs for a Short While With Pump Off

It does look like, based on the install instructions that I came find, that the SWG should turn off when the pump is off. Is that right?

SWG Runs for a Short While With Pump Off

The only timer I have is the aqua link for the pump. The SWG is not on a timer.

SWG Runs for a Short While With Pump Off

I just need to know if this is a problem. My pump is controlled via aqua link. When the pump turns off the SWG takes about three minutes to display “no flow” and, I guess, go to sleep. It quickly resumes chlorinating when the pump is turned back on. I’m attaching pic of what the SWG cell looks...

    CYA Level Manufacturer vs TFP

So pool math and the cya fc chart recommend 60-90 cya for swg. The Jandy manual for the swg says to stay between 30-50. Just wondering if anybody has a recommendation. I generally like to follow the manufacturer specs, but I know there is a reason that a higher level is recommended here.

    Using lots of dry acid

Thank you. As far as the acid, am I looking at diminished lifespan of the swg cell if I continue to use dry acid?

    Using lots of dry acid

I will post screen shot of test numbers. My alkalinity is coming down slowly, (was at 200 now at 150). My ph seems to stay right at 7.8, that with me pouring about 7.5lb of dry acid in over the last seven days. My ph started at 8.2, I feel like I’ve seen it dip to 7.5 but that test block seems...

    Pool Too Full

I always forget about harbor freight. We even have one local. I bought a sump style at Home Depot for $109. It’s not super fast, but that works out for where I’m draining, it doesn’t flood the area.

    Pool Too Full

I was trying to avoid that. I just had the pool built, I guess another hundred or so is a drop in the bucket. Thanks!!

    Pool Too Full

We got a heavy rain today and we are supposed to get more. My pools is up to the top of the skimmer. I’ll include a pic. The pool installer has a fitting for a hose coming right off the pump. I have a hose hooked up, but water is coming out pretty slow. Can I turn off the return valve to pump...

    Too Much Salt

It is a Jandy TRUCLEAR - That's the only model designation I see. It was filled on April 22 - I think he added salt that day. It is a Jandy TRUCLEAR - That's the only model designation I see. The only thing it every "says" on the display is "Chlorinating 30%" or you know, whatever percent it...

    Too Much Salt

Thanks for the replies. It’s a Jandy SWG. The book says over 4500 can cause corrosion. I did use 10ml for the test, I made my wife repeat the test without my input to double check me. It’s a small pool, 10,100 gallons, but I still don’t have a great place to put 5,000 gallons of water. I...

    Too Much Salt

I have a brand new pool. I bought the Tp pro salt test kit. I’m showing 6200 ppm salt. I took a sample to the pool store and they got the same reading. I contacted the pool installer and he said he puts too much on purpose and it will level out in a couple of months. That does not seem to jive...
