So, my pump finally bit the dust (not totally unexpected) and I have contacted a couple of local pool stores to come out and get estimates for a new pump and filter system. In the meantime, is there anything I can do to fight the inevitable swampiness coming in the days ahead? TIA

I'm just trying to clear it out of the way so my dog can get to the grass patch behind the pool. I get worried about her slipping on the ice and falling so I want to clear a path sooner and just wait for the rest.
