    Feedback on Waterway Pump

Can't speak for that pump but the one I use is identical to the Hayward power Flo matrix and I've had no troubles. Also got it for that same price at poolsupplies.com

Does anyone know how durable Radiant Metric Round Pools are?

Re: Does anyone know how durable Radiant Metric Round Pools Did you check out their brochure? http://radiantpools.com/images/uploads/ ... Bro_10.pdf Seems like a really well built pool but I think many don't own one because of the cost. I like that they have a very nice warranty but I doubt...

You Know Your Pool Is Clean When...pic

He has been on the floatie several times without any trouble, but I was on it all those times. This time he slipped and got pretty wet, the floatie did not survive! But I got a good picture out of it and the floatie can be replaced easily. :goodjob:

You Know Your Pool Is Clean When...pic

Your cat gets on the pool float just to drink water from the pool because it tastes better than what he has in his bowl!

We just purchased a new intex pool

I leave my pool up year round too, just winterize it like a real pool. Going on 4-5 years now, waiting for this pool to bite the dust because a 12x24 is on my want list. I might even find a way to bury it 4' too. Just have to cut some trees and take the roots out of the ground first. Very...

    Intex and Bonding Question

The only way I can think of bonding an Intex metal frame is this way. Grind the paint off of the bottom of one of the metal posts, attach a ground wire with a strong hose clamp and paint with rustoleum to prevent rust. Attach ground wire where the pool pump is bonded by a ground stake. Not...

Testing for CYA - different results for different methods

Re: Testing for CYA - different results for different method I'm just wondering if it's really feasible to keep a test kit in the fridge?

    An alternative to vacuuming?

An auto vacuum that doesn't run with your pool equipment sounds like what you need. Pro...Most work very well, almost no intervention needed. Con...they're kinda pricy but you get what you pay for.

    First Pool -- Very Frustrated

Funny my own pool looks much the same way! Here is a pic I posted on FB yesterday to say "Happy Summer Y'all"! Now trust me when I say this. When you do it the TFP, BBB, The Pool Calculator and TF-100 way your pool will look this way and you'll actually have time and $$$ for...

    illegal end cap switch

Wow  Now the government is trying to regulate how we run our pool pump! After seeing this thread I finally figured out what this is and what it really does, might be helpful for saving a bunch of $$$ too! http://www.tightwatt.com/benefits-of-pooltimers.html

    When to add chlorine.

I add in the evening usually around sunset but wait until it gets near the minimum, otherwise I leave it alone. Hi neighbor

wrinkles in Intex Ultra 24'x52" pool

I have the same problem too, not too worried about it. Going on 4 years now through winter and all, I'm just waiting for it to bite the dust someday for an excuse to get a bigger pool. It does make vacuuming easier though even if it doesn't look perfect!

    not sure what to buy

You could also get those rubber quick fix thingy's for engine block freeze plugs at the auto parts store. Cheap and readily available!

    not sure what to buy

A plastic shopping bag usually works well enough for me if it's a quick job and in your case it is. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes really.

    outdoor refriderator

I have a small (not the smallest but next size up) dorm size fridge under the bar outside which is on the shady side of the house, works out great! I keep food, adult beverages and condiments in there for easy access while grilling.

Change single speed pump to 2 speed to save electricity?

It can be both. Just remove the switch cover, then the 4 motor through bolts and turn the discharge where you want it and but back it together. Takes maybe 10 mins. tops.

Change single speed pump to 2 speed to save electricity?

You can save a little money by getting the same pump I have, it is identical to the hayward you mention in every way. Even the pump basket fits on one or the other. I think I found mine for around $259 I know I definitely save $$$ by running on low all the time and only using high speed when...

    How to measure

When I add liquid chlorine I use a glass measuring cup. I also have a an 8 cup pitcher with lines marked at every 8 oz. that I use for bigger quantities . I guess a 5 gal. pail would work out well too with lines marked at every gal.

I'm confused about above ground pool dimensions.

    It's roughly 24' across. My 15' Intex comes to about 14' 8"

What is a good testing kit?

I vote for the TF100 kit as well, that and the the pool calculator go hand in hand for perfect testing and water balance. The pool stores test can't even compare to TF Test kits! It's that good and you'll save $$$ in the long run.

    TFT...DPD R-870 Powder Question

After using the TFT for awhile now I can sort of see a trend as to how my chem. balances are and how my pool behaves. I lose about 2 ppm daily in CL with CYA @ 30 TA is usually steady @ 100 and ph stays around 7.6-7.8 I like my ph around the upper range because it reduces the eye irritation...

    TFT...DPD R-870 Powder Question

Well I guess both of you explained it well enough that no picture is needed. I have never needed to shock the pool except on opening...I leave it up and uncovered during winter, 4 years now.

    TFT...DPD R-870 Powder Question

This is a simple one. What exactly is a heaping scoop of this anyway? I'm finding that the results between the DPD and OTO test vary a bit. A picture would be quite helpful.

Filter Vibration noise is driving me crazy

My filter is about 2 weeks old and doesn't seem to making noise from there. So far I've put inner tubes between the pump and basket bases, that did help some so I know it's the base transmitting the noise. Next I'll try under the filter base and them attempt the expanding foam thing. I'd...

Filter Vibration noise is driving me crazy

I have the same problem, but I don't think it's related to the filter itself. The plastic base seems to transmit all the noise and vibration from the pump. The only reasonable solution I can think of is to spray the underside of the base with some expanding foam insulation. Not too sure if...

    Full time pumping - Intex

After burning out 3 different Intex pumps, I've ditched them altogether and just went with what a real pool would use. With what I've spent on replacements I could have bought something better in the first place. Works much better for vacuuming too!

Can I change from vertical to side discharge?

After removing the thru bolts for the motor I was able to get it done after a little finagling with the cosmetic ring! Thanks everybody!

Can I change from vertical to side discharge?

I still feel like I need a definite answer before I start taking the wrong things apart.
