Pentair Hybrid Heat Pump/Gas Combo Heater App/Remote option?

No, generally people do not as none of the different manufacturers work together in any sort of intelligent way. One exception would be for non-smart equipment like a filter. It has one job and is not a smart device in any way. If you wanted to remotely monitor it's pressure, you would add an...

    Diferent Circupool Models output?

Rattus, Great layout of features...especially since some of these specs/features had to be gleaned from deep reading of the manual or other means. I, too did that research to make a decision on which unit to buy. I agree the Edge series may be the future direction considering its switching...

    Questions on SWG and pump

No worries, my pool is pretty easy most of the time so the last thing I want is to start a fight with it! Not my idea of relaxing.

    Questions on SWG and pump

I am aware of that fact, especially from reading on here. I was referring to the Clorox branded pool salt sold at Walmart and the fact that it may not be recommended by users here. I've missed that if that is the case. That's what I'm trying to figure out because that's all my local Walmart...

    Questions on SWG and pump

Is this honestly the case? I've missed that advice if so. I just bought 6 bags (a little at a time) of it last week because like you, that's all my local Walmart carries. If it's not recommended here, I will take them back and buy somewhere else like HD. Thanks

    I think I have a problem with RJ45+

Not so funny...I bet you're not too far off from that. Us TFPers are known for keeping high quality H2O in our pools as well as a springboard for products...good or bad...we'll let everyone know all about it. In CircuPool's case, much praise has been said about their products here and hundreds...

    Advice on Replacing SWCG

The 45k size would do you fine following the general rule of buy twice as large as your pool but I decided on the 60k system hoping it will last longer based on running easier (less current through the plates) and also have the ability for lots of headroom - being able to make a lot more when I...

    Advice on Replacing SWCG

+1 for Circupool! Specifically, the RJ-60+ (60,000 gallons) That's what I decided on after much searching here on the forums and reading about others' experiences and opinions. A few hundred dollars cheaper than the competition and a better warranty. This is considering I am not moving to...

Planning on SWG conversion ? which pump

@Sfmark From what I see in your picture...it looks like the cell is mounted upside down for use with a VS pump...according to the directions and if you are going to be utilizing the lower flow rates of a VS pump...I assume that's one of the reasons you bought a VS pump was to run it slower and...

    Questions on SWG and pump

Home Depot and Lowe's are still open and may have the unions and adapters you need. Best part is it's easy to return and get the right parts if you mess up the first time.

    Questions on SWG and pump

My shipping cost was exactly the same as Brett S ($12.40) for the RJ-60+ (Brett S got the RJ-30+) to basically the same area of the country (he's less than 3 hrs away in PA, I'm in DE). Only he got his faster! He got his yesterday and mine should be by my front door in a couple of hours. As...

Planning on SWG conversion ? which pump

To answer that question, yes you can run them both from the same breaker. Using your old pump timer would be most beneficial so that you can program your SWG to run inside your times programmed into your VS pump. The timer will serve as your control device for the SWG leaving the flow switch to...

    Questions on SWG and pump

@JRC1954 there will be no issues running the SWG on the same circuit as the pump. The SWG draws minimal power. I'm away from my computer right now otherwise I would quote it but memory says something like 2A when wired for 240v (your situation) and 4A when wired for 120v. Many folks here have...

    Questions on SWG and pump

And I'm about 1.5 hrs SouthEast of you Jeff! I also have the same size pool and ordered the RJ-60+ just as waterl0gged did. As far as the wiring goes as discussed above, if you ran the VS pump 24/7 then of course there would be no issue running the SWG. If you wanted to run less time and on a...

Making the Leap - CircuPool Edge 40 or Pentair IC-40

U, I applaud your choice of the RJ-45+. I can tell you how to hook it up and I can tell you it's not at all difficult but in the end, if you're not comfortable then you simply are not comfortable doing it. Done. In that case I would go with the general electrician or even the friend of a...

    Questions on SWG and pump

The RJ series he is looking at has adjustments in 5% steps. A few other Ciru-Pool series also have that level of adjustment but most of theirs are 25% steps. So, in this thought process, the RJ series is a better choice. There are other advantages to the RJ series over other series as well such...

    RJ45 or RJ60 ?

Just for info for both of you guys (@Brett S and @water0logged) the manual says it comes preset for 240v operation and the jumper has to be changed to work with 120v! Don't want a simple mistake to ruin anyone's day!

    RJ45 or RJ60 ?

I ordered mine Monday afternoon and according to UPS will be here tomorrow. That doesn't sound promising for the weekend for yours considering UPS doesn't run Sat's or Sun's. :-( Sorry. RJ45 or RJ60 ?

@Brett S brings up a good point. Honestly, I don't know enough about hydraulics to be an authority on this. I "assume" this is the purpose of the flow switch and it's cut off point.

    RJ45 or RJ60 ?

According to the manual, an "unterminated" power cable is included with the unit. That means yes a cable is included but without a plug, just bare wires at the one end. According to UPS mine will be here tomorrow so I can tell you exactly what is included soon if interested.

Planning on SWG conversion ? which pump

The Circu-Pool (discountsaltpool.com) RJ-60+ seems to be popular for our size pools (and larger). That's what I just pulled the trigger on. First the Circu-Pool SWG's in general are popular stand alone choices (i.e. not being paired with an automation system) and then of that brand the RJ series...

    RJ45 or RJ60 ?

If you are planning to mount vertically I would NOT use the premade kit they offer and build your own. Reason being is in their kit the flow switch is in the "up" vertical path then the cell is in the "down" vertical path. The issue here with low flow is the cell may empty out with little back...

    I think I have a problem with RJ45+

Yes, the COVID-19 is making all of the bleach disappear and I'm afraid it won't be readily available for some time...so I pulled the trigger Monday night for an RJ-60+. Hopefully, no more need for bleach! And runs to the store. I, also, am watching this thread for the outcome.
