    Rough Plaster- Now with pictures!

By calcium level I assume you mean calcium hardness? Here are my latest Taylor K-2006 test results: Spa: CH 170 PH 7.4 TA 110 CYA 50 FC 7.5 CC 0 Pool (where I really don't want to have a problemthat I have to scape...) CH 80 PH 7.4 TA 70 CYA 70 FC 3.0 (need to add bleach) CC 0 I believe the...

    Rough Plaster- Now with pictures!

It actually appears the roughness is caused by small round ?????? balls. Any ideas? Plaster? Calcium? I can scrape them off with a soapstone- but a wire brush does not dislodge them. They are on there pretty good. I am open to any and all suggestions. Thanks.

    Rough Plaster- Now with pictures!

Can I chemically reduce/reverse the damage? How about abrading the surface with one of those cleaning stones that are normally used on the tile coping? I suppose the last resort is to redo the plaster.....

    Rough Plaster- Now with pictures!

I opened my spa and pool for the 1st time this month. I started the BBB method last year. I drained the spa for winter, but the cover leaked and it filled 3/4 up over the winter/spring seasons. It filled up to, but not over the top step (this is relevant later). I chlorine shocked it clear...

    Blaster 1000, 2000, and 3000

Between the Spa and the pool, I have 8 filters to clean. That's a long time sitting in a chair spinning filters by hand. It's more fun to swim while the Blaster does the work. Granted, it is not for everyone, it does not do a perfect job if you don't enough water pressure- but in my yard...

    When and how to close?

I am in Maryland. I close by very early October, otherwise leaves fill my pool faster than I can skim them out. I use a mesh cover, and I periodically use a leaf blower to get the leaves off the cover. Over the winter, I also use a garden hose(with a shutoff fitting on the end to maintain the...

    Sealing stamped concrete

I went with a product called Everclear TB. It is acrylic based. I had two coats applied with a no slip additive. Deck looks great- again.

    Blaster 1000, 2000, and 3000

I have one. It works as well as using a hose with a nozzle on the end. The filter does not come out as clean as the the one in the video on their website. The fact my filters are three years old is likely why. It is nothing like using a pressure washer. I don't use my pressure washer because I...

    Sealing stamped concrete

I have to stand corrected. The tint is not in the sealer. The tint is the release compound. The sealer is clear, but darkens the concrete. The antislip does go on the with the sealer. I am having a couple of contractors come look at my deck. The one contractor told me there are a bunch of...

    Sealing stamped concrete

Mine is tinted all the way through. They actually added the tint to the cement truck and then poured it out after mixing. They stamped it, then let it dry. It dried to a pinkish color that had me wondering if I had made the right color choice. I did not see any powerwashing. After it dried...

    Sealing stamped concrete

I called deck oseal. Like the others mentioned here- their sealers are all clear. What we are looking for is more of a topcoat sealer. Something like this. http://www.concretesolutions.com/pdfs/S ... 200205.pdf Once I get a moment- I will continue the research.

    Sealing stamped concrete

I have stamped colored concrete deck around my pool. The installer is long gone. It's been three years and my deck needs sealing. Any experts here who can steer me in the right direction?? When they originally poured the concrete, it looked almost pink. After it cured, they rolled on this...

    In Floor Cleaners

+1 for the inground pool cleaner. Mine are popup heads(Quikclean). I use a Poolbuster to get the three very small sections where silt collects. Otherwise the heads take care of the rest. Of course I have over 29 popheads, including the steps and seats(in a 40 x 18 pool). The heads have been...

Any new pools for the slideshow?

Thanks all, it was my wife's inspiration and three years to get it all done. It is definately a great place to spend the evening, even if you don't get in the pool.

    Pool Genie

Has anyone here know what this product is? Being a Noob, I used it last year, with a Nature 2, and it seemed to work fine. After further research, I have decided to do the BBB method. I am not sure what effect the Pool Genie chemical will have on the water as I raise the chlorine levels. I...

    Pool Buster

Another happy Pool Buster fan here. I use the CG model. It makes doing the last minute "touch-up" cleaning, before the guests arrive, very easy. Also, no more vacuuming the 10' spa with a 30" pool hose.
