Help. Motor just hums... won't start

Yes capacitor is good. It hums, but when I turn the motor in the back it starts up. Like the old car days! Maybe something blocking it?

Help. Motor just hums... won't start

I changed it but the issued remained. I wonder if new capacitor is bad too?

Help. Motor just hums... won't start

I can turn it but with a wrench. What would that mean? Mine hums but eventually starts.

    Polaris hose getting tangled

If you buy a new hose like I did after 12 years, the sweep will be brand new! $100 on Amazon. Trust me, best $$$$ spent.

Tuesday was the last time I add liquid, so maybe it is just showing up. I have lots of solution so I will test on Saturday again.

My CH is now 220 (going to Rear 5 more lbs) but my CYA jumped to 45! Getting better.............

Good thing I read pool school on how to test. I needed Calcium Plus so I went to Leslie's to buy 25 lbs. I brought in a water sample just to compare. He said my TA was too low and I needed to but 15 lbs of Alkalinity. Then he said my CYA was 60, my FC was 7 and I needed to buy that Phosfate...

Great looking out! It was on default of 84. I put 56 on now and it went up to -0.61.

CSI is -0.35. Ouch. Man, Pool Calculator recommends over 400 oz of Calcium.............wow. Looks like 25 lbs should do it!

Okay I am back! Don't run, lol..............Water drained and refilled, shock in progress and I added 2 gallons of liquid condition. FAS-DPD results right now; FC-11 CC-0 pH-7.4 TA-80 CH-160 CYA-35 Is Hardness too low?

Thanks. So my plan is when fresh water is full is to check pH and alkalinity, get FC to 6, add CYA to 30-40 range, and check pH FC daily and CYA monthly. Plan? We just decided to start fresh as in the long run, we will save $$$ with BBB. I will return the favor to the site which is what it...

The only question we have with that is we know solid CYA lowers pH, does liquid CYA lower it too? Also, will liquid CYA register right away or do you have to wait a week like solid?

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Swim-Time-4-l ... r/20966222 Okay, I think I will go with this! Is this okay? Do I add the full 110 oz at once in a sock?

Didn't buy dichlor. I bought bleach though. I will buy some solid CYA and start fresh. I want to be 100% at 30 ppm CYA. Just curious, does alkalinity go up/down on a fresh fill usually?

    Chris From Central California

Crud, I didn't know it was for <5000 pools. Okay, tell me which CYA to buy please. I guess I need 110 oz to get it up to 30 CYA.

I am not confident with the solid stabilizor. The pool calculator says I need 110 oz? What kind?
  22. MonsterPoolMan

    Chris From Central California

I was going by this? pool-school/temporary_pool_guide Is it wrong? Plus, I could not get the CYA below 100 with all the tricks (adding tap water to test, etc.)
  23. MonsterPoolMan

    Chris From Central California

So each pound of dichlor should raise my CYA around 2 ppm if I calculated right. I may need 14 lbs when all said and done. I will test CYA every 3 days or so. Water is 3/4 empty right now. We are expecting rain Wednesday thru Sunday, so I would like to get so "free" water this week!

    Chris From Central California

Thanks! My FC was 30 for around 2-3 weeks, but then again my CYA was over 100. That is why we are draining. I will go with your advise of a pound a day for 2 weeks.
  25. MonsterPoolMan

    Chris From Central California

That's the question I seem to not be able to get an answer to. What happens if your FC is too high? Is there such a bad thing? Yes water is in the 50's.

    Chris From Central California

Yes TA & pH. No water fall. I do have a spa. I can do the 2-4 days if you recommend it.

I did a partial drain a few weeks ago and could not get the CYA below 100. (I must have been at over 300 CYA.) The wifey and I decided to go with a full drain and just start over. I got confused with the solid CYA and decided to use the advise with Pools School recommendation...

I think I will go with the Dichlor, so 27,500 gallon pool about 13 bags of one pounders should be good, right?
  29. MonsterPoolMan

    Chris From Central California

I am even more confused now. In Pool School, to raise CYA, it states to use dichlor or solid stabilizer. I just want a CYA at 30 when I start up with a 27.500 gallon pool, lol..........
