    BBB Method is warmer climates.

Your pool has twice the volume of mine so I would expect to be using 2 litres (roughly half a US gallon) of 10% liquid chlorine per day or 14 litres per week = 3.6 US gallons per week.

    BBB Method is warmer climates.

Here in Thailand it is 90 deg every day of the year. I normally add one litre (2 pints) of 10% liquid chlorine per day. This yields approx 2ppm chlorine in my pool. We really need to know your pool size to help.

An interesting paper on CYA levels

Thanks for this response Chemgeek. Sorry, I did not realise you had to register at the other forum to see the PDF file, and it was too big to upload here. Is it OK to quote some of this on the Thai forum, or perhaps just link to your response?

An interesting paper on CYA levels

I was posting on a swimming pool forum in Thailand, where I suggested a CYA level of 60 might be appropriate here due to the year round strong tropical sunshine. Another member posted a link to the attached PDF file which seems to suggest anything over 20 does not make much difference...

My pool is tiled concrete, but the pool calculator does not offer this surface as an option. What is the best option to choose?

    Cost Comparison of Chlorine Sources

Yes, a very interesting thread, especially for me, a newish pool owner. I live in Thailand. Here 5 x 200g (8oz) TriChlor pucks are 350 baht = approx USD 11 20 litres (5.5 US gallons) of 10% bleach costs exactly the same, so USD 11 I worked out that the TriChor will yield 21 ppm FC, whereas...

I don't have algae in my pool, just a concrete mixer

Hello Kim Here's a photo of my finished pool. It's 27 x 13' and 5' at the deep end. I think I am lucky here as my season is 365 days and the water always around 86F+ and no heater (just the sun). Got a bit of a problem now though as Sept and Oct are the rainy season - we will get about 35...

Of course it's easy to fix - just send round another concrete mixer to pull it out!
