    skimmer / main drains plumbing

No - I've been in a fight with my PB. I relayed this info to him and he's just avoiding me now and thus I will have to get new PB to resolve. I'm not sure what a float diverter is or where/how to install. Is this something a local pool supply store would carry? Thanks for the info on drains...

    skimmer / main drains plumbing

Everything is fully backfilled, coping is set in etc etc. Question, if I block both skimmers with the winterization skimmer covers ( or using the plugs under the skimmer basket) and turn on my pump - in theory the main drain would provide water to the pump? I'm now concerned the main drains...

    skimmer / main drains plumbing

As a new 1st time pool purchaser I totally agree with you jblizzle. I got caught up on features. The PB did this: Skimmer (with a plug on the non suction hole) to 2nd Skimmer. 2nd Skimmer has the two drains attached And all run to the pump from that point. So the last in the line is the...

Hello all, I'm wondering if there is an industry standard on how plumbing should be done with the following setup: 2 Skimmers located on the same wall 2 main drains in the deep end 3 feet apart I understand (now) ideally the skimmers and drains should be plumbed on independent runs but is it...

auto top up - water source

Will grab a test kit from here and post numbers. Now that you've confirmed that softened water would be better, I do need to examine the impact to the residential loads needed during the summer. Is there a calculation to determine avg water evaporation by surface area by temp? Thanks all!

Hello all, Wondering if someone would advise on water source for our auto pool water top up. We live in an area where the water is very hard and we need a water softener for all household lines. For the auto top up, would it be wise to T off after the water softener or before? We will have an...

    Pool Build - Baltimore

Hello - great pool build thread! Thanks! Do you have any pics of how the flagstone coping is being set on the autocover lid? I'm told it sits in a track and is not set in there? I'm wondering how this section looks when it meets the regular section of set coping? As well as how you have over...

Difference between a Heat Pump and a Heater

Hello, I was wonder if anyone would be so kind to explain the differences between a Hayward HeatPro Heat Pump and an Universal H-Series (natural gas). skimmer standards

Yes will have an auto cover...so don't know if 1 or 2 or if this is in the big scheme of things all that important? Actually what is the specific function difference between a skimmer and drain? I just assume it just pulls water from the top of the pool and drains pull from the bottom - correct?
